Just did an insanity run through in under 20hrs. Didn't bother to recruit Tali, and only did Garrus loyalty mission so I would make sure someone would hold my hand at the end. I didn't do ship upgrades either... All of the crew got focused on their side missions and wouldn't talk about upgrades! That's a little bit of a bug IMHO. Poor Thane! I wanted to use him with Miranda for double warp.

I was a renegade female shep. It was funny when my wife came in and was asking why my chest was smaller than Mirandas. I explained she was genetically augmented, and Shep was very fit. She also was wondering about her busted face. Good times.

Besides the human reaper, I thought the toughest level was Thane's. Probably because I did it just before Collector. Mid level with original sniper. Those Blue suns just kept coming. I cheaped out and ran past them cloaked. Are they unlimited in number?

Viper was fun, but I didn't really get to use it, since I immediately picked up the widow. Too bad! The Viper had the most enjoyable mechanics. Spamming the fire button while trying to stay zoomed on the targets head was great. Then I could finish them off with a power, saving ammo.

I used AP ammo in the beginning, and switched to Warp for Collector Ship. I may have been better off sticking with AP. Scions never gave me much trouble so I made the move. AP would have been useful for the Reaper battle, which I thought was the hardest part of the game, and to put into my pistol for husks. Too bad I didn't have points for squad cryo ammo. I'll bet that would have been money.

I was only a lvl 18 infiltrator when I did the last level, but was still heavy warp ammo, assin cloak, max class ability. I didn't get around to picking up the SMG, hadn't researched the nuke, and I barely had enough ammo to kill the damn human reaper. I had no ammo going in the first time, and died quickly. The respawn gave me a choice of heavy weapon, and nine sniper rounds. I emptied the collector beam very efficiently into the reaper, and connected with all nine sniper rounds when cloaked. In between I was spamming Miranda's unstable warp into the reaper. It took me about three more clips from the hand cannon to finish the damn thing of with Harbringer breathing down my neck. I feel like I got lucky. I must have restarted that part close to 10 times, but I could see having to do it fifty times before beating it again.

Is damage from the character indexed to level? Does the human reaper's armor increase with player level?

Hats off to Bioware. I've been playing computer games for over 30 yrs and ME1 and ME2 are the only games I have gone back to replay. Actually, I replayed parts for Planescape Torment too...
