The load times for any save game is constant between 60-70sec on my Win7 x64 with 4GB RAM and my Core 2 Duo CPU.
Doublechecked that by loading the same (or other) save games couple of times. Load times have been constant at 60-70sec, which is quite annoying.
The game seems to have a problem with processor affinity.
When I start the game, set its CPU affinity to only one core and then back to two cores, the load times shrink to constant 5-15sec!
Is there a patch in the works for this?
Any input about this is highly appreciated.

Bioware hasn't even said there will be another patch, much less that they will fix this issue. (But then, they tend to be tight-lipped about things until they're close to actually delivering.)
You might want to check out Mass Affinity. Can't speak from personal experience, but I've seen it mentioned by a few people here.

Mass Affinity works great. I use it as my Mass Effect 2 shortcut.

Any way to get Mass Affinity to work with TexMod?

Thanks for the feedback and the link to the Mass affinity tool.
So, there are some options, even in case there will be no other patch
