OK. I just wanted to officially say it. Kasumi Goto is my favorite character in the Mass Effect universe.
I'm replaying the game now and waited a little bit in front of the terminal you need to interact with to first recruit Kasumi. If you wait, she starts saying different ads to try and get your attention. They're incredible:
"Have problems with Collectors? Try Kasumi's Credit service!"
"Shepard, we have the right companions for you. Perhaps Japanese, petite, and smart."
"Okay, really? How many times do you have to pass this terminal before you touch it?"
She's incredible.

Lol, I know the feeling, man. All the other characters were like, meh, for me, but then...
well, BioWare made Kasumi. And then I thought... whoa.... that chick is amazing.

Yep, the other characters just didnt interest me for whatever reason, Liara fans liked Liara, I didnt see why, Ash fans liked Ash, etc. I just found most un interesting, (aside from legion and mordin) but I just liked Kasumi more, she just had a personality that appealed to me more than the others, hopefully she will be back in ME3.
My favorite part was scanning hocks room clicked a plant "its clean" "its a plant !" I dont know why but it made me laugh. And even though I was a needs of the many over the few" guy I really had a hard tome destroying the box, I ended up saving the damn thing, thats going to bite me in the ass in ME3.

I've noticed there's a lot of internal conflict for those who love Tali and find they love Kasumi as well. I can see their similarities when I look at ME1 Tali. That Tali had a certain spark, a certain lust for discovery and new situations that I think Kasumi definitely has. Tali in ME2 seems far more jaded about the galaxy, her sense of duty overtaking her wonder. That spark probably only shows during a Tali romance whereas Kasumi's spark is there regardless of romance.
That's probably why my own like of Tali transferred to Kasumi. I still like Tali and her character development from enthusiasm to jaded is interesting. But too easy to get jaded considering the type of work Shepard draws you into. Give Kasumi props for bucking the trend.

yeah Tali became more depressing in ME2, Kasumik still seems to have playful (best word for it) attitude and isnt as serious. Also Kasumi looks quite alot like Tali. Maybe its the hood.

interesting trope, and the funny thing is - tali and kasumi actually do work well together. ;)

Kasumi is my favorite of any character in the whole ME universe.

"Come back later. I'm sure I'll have more to talk about"

Ever since downloading Kasumi I find myself using her in every mission.

Is there anything this chick cant do?

She can hack, she can steal, she can make herself invisible, why wasnt she in the game in the first place?

I think her powers probably weren't streamlined when the game was first released. Her loyalty mission and her combat AI all appear to be tweaked based on the initial critiques of the game. However, for a tech, she's remarkably resilient even on the biotic-centric Collector missions. Designed to be overpowered or were the other squadmates not designed to be powerful enough?

It think it's a case of her character being designed in isolation. Squadmates like Jack have a pretty poor weapon and power selection that were fairly obviously designed towards a character concept rather than gameplay. Kasumi, on the other hand, had to do the job of two characters at her loyalty mission.

agreed. To be honest, Jack's power is the most useless, next to jacob and miranda for me.  I can just  use tali/legion/kasumi and be more effective. It could also due to the fact that i'm an sinper primarily. I think it's also the fact that Kasumi is useful no matter what class you are using.

Realistically, even on insanity, party member selection is somewhat inconsequential. Sure, taking Miranda along every time might save a few bullets, but it's hardly a make or break choice (regardless of your class).

Personally, I just take along whoever I want to hear some dialogue from.

I usually find myself using Tali and Kasumi, being an adept, I believe that is the best option. For example, in about 10 second a Geth Prime suddenly turned mentally retarded to do the amount of pwn that was being distributed upon it. Myself using heavy warp/heavy reave, Tali using chiktikka and her Cerberus shotgun, and Kasumi using overload and cloak, all at the same time. I lol'd, a lot.

Never saw the point of giving Kasumi overload, i just use flashbang for CC, rapid shadowstrike to remove enemies causing problems or who I cant hit, and then master thief to make her even more dangerous. Also overload is specific to shileds, so its useless most of the time.

Her Shadowstrike is always useful to me, but I wish I could retrain her powers to switch between Flashbang and Overload depending on the mission.

a little off topic perhaps but, wow. :o The background and skyline you get to see when you walk out on the balkony in Hock's estate on Bekenstein during Kasumi's loyalty-quest is just what i imagined Earth will look like. Or something similar. :) ... But anyway... it sure was absolutely beautiful.

By the way, anyone else see the KTV channel with the cartoon krogan in the security room? ^^

Who I take for most missions during a playthrough is mostly a roleplaying decision. If, for example, I'm playing a pro-Cerberus Renegade, then I take Miranda and Jacob a lot. If I'm playing the ME 1 Alliance Veteran Paragon, Garrus and Tali a lot. Then there's my "team DLC" playthroughs, where it's all Kasumi and Zaeed, all the time, barring loyalty missions. And so forth.

Yep, however this thread doesn't really have an artist (I don't really count myself, as I rarely produce anything...and I'm out of ideas atm).

Anyway...If anyone wants to try and create some nice kasumi pic's, I've got 2 new renders with kasumi's hood down (if ya interested):

Seemed appropriate to leave this here, the result of me trying to turn Shepard into Kasumi:

It did eventually work, though.

I'll do the above with Jacob too, if you'd like.

You shouldn't even joke about that kind of thing (I don't know where people these get ideas about Kasumi & Jacob... :lol:)  ...I photoshopped a Kasumi & Shep image a while back, using Male Shep & Fem Shep romances:
