^^ Good points, however if Kasumi and Jacob got together I don't think Bioware would break them up, then allow Shepard to romance her.DWH1982 wrote...
Am I the only one who thinks that maybe Kasumi's interest in Jacob is a good thing if Shepard is interested in her?
I view Kasumi's crush as more of a rebound thing. I think she's trying to force herself to move on, and as a result, a physical attraction to Jacob has turned into a larger crush than she would have had otherwise. If they were to get together, I rather suspect the relationship wouldn't last very long, that it would be more of a typical rebound fling. Ironically, this would be fitting for Jacob, as well, as I don't think he has quite gotten over Miranda and might be in more of a "rebound" mode himself.
If Shepard really is interested in Kasumi, I suspect he doesn't want to be the rebound boyfriend. So, I'm thinking it might actually be better to let nature take its course with Jacob and Kasumi. Shepard can wait until Kasumi has finally moved on and is actually ready for another long term relationship.
I should note: I say all of this as a Kasumi fan who has no plans to romance Kasumi, even if she is available. My Shepards tend to stay loyal to their ME1 love interest.
I don't mind it being just a crush, and I would love Bioware to implement more 'in-depth' crew / squad interaction, but I think Kasumi deserves much better than Jacob...ADLegend21 wrote...
I think Kasumi's crush on Jacob is genuine. It shows the crew can actually interact with each other and that Jacob isn't as terrible as everyone makes him out to be as a character.
Though I wouldn't mind if Bioware did something like this in ME3:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IF Shepard didn't romance Miranda = Jacob romances Miranda (there still seems to be something between them, imo).
IF Shepard romanced Miranda = Jacob romances Kasumi.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It would be interesting to see consequences for how your Shepard interacts and what he / she does with crew / squadmates.

Sorry if this has been brought up. It's kinda hard to search for answers when they're probably hidden in the many pages of this thread.
For my Paragon Shep, I let her keep the Greybox.
Reason - This Shep was a paragon.
For my main Shep, I made her destroy it.
Reason - She would need to go into hiding (and may be hunted for the secrets contained in the greybox), and she might not get over Keiji's death (which she needs to).
Plus, my lonely Shepard wants her to himself

My canon Shepard destroys it for her.
It's a difficult decision. My Shepard is a paragon, who feels that people should be held responsible for their actions. As such, a large part of him wanted to keep the greybox so it could be used to expose wrong doing.
However, he opted against keeping it for these reasons, which are ranked in order of least importance to most importance in Shepard's mind:
1. He's an Alliance loyalist, and the information would have been bad for the Alliance.
2. It's what Keiji wanted.
3. He didn't want to have to deal with people coming after Kasumi for the greybox when the crew needed to be focused on the mission.
4. He felt like having Kasumi keep it would essentially be throwing her under the bus, as it would put her in danger for the foreseeable future.
5. He felt that Kasumi needs to move on emotionally, and that it's unlikely she can do so with easy access to Keiji's memories.
6. The information on the greybox could potentially drive a wedge between the Alliance and the rest of the galaxy at the very time when it's important for the galaxy to cooperate to take on the Reapers.
Number 6 is the most important reason, really. Yeah, my Shepard feels that governments should be held accountable and that history should know the truth. But he's also haunted by the reapers. The thought of what could happen if the greybox info got out and humanity is divided from the rest of the galaxy at a critical time was a bit too much for him.

I stand by all those reasons. All are exactly my reasoning for that decision as well; Ultimately, for the safety and wellbeing of Kasumi, and, on a larger scale, protect the Alliance. Especially #5, as a friend, my Shepard thought it was the right things to do.

Kasumi stripped off her suit and turned the shower on. She stepped into the water, letting it soak over her whole body, helping her to relax. She let the water run off her as she leaned against the wall, blinking her eyes, the water masking her tears.
She stayed like that for over ten minutes, then turned off the water and wrapped a towel over her body and drying off then drying her hair. She ran a brush through her long black hair, making sure it was smooth without tangles. She put on her on the main part of her clothing then opened the bag that had her make-up in it then took it out. She put on her lipstick last, slowly putting it on her lower lip and right under part of her mouth. She turned when the door hissed open.
Her pace sped up as she made her way to her room, closing the door. She sat on the couch and bit her lower lip. She clipped the hood back on, then was about to pull up her hood but didn't. Kasumi pulled her hair back and out of her face, clipping it into a neat bob onto her head. She starred at her hands, the gloves were sitting next to her. Her eyes just gazed at the tattoo she had on her right hand. It was a rose that wrapped up her arm. It matched the one Keiji had gotten, she had gotten it because he had one.

The Mass Effect Wiki article for Keiji Okuda doesn't give a date for his death. That makes me think we really don't know when he died.
To be honest, I always got the impression that he was killed more recently, perhaps within the last year or even within the last six months. I've always felt that the intensity of Kasumi's crush on Jacob is the result of her pushing herself to move on, though others disagree with me on that. Also, her crush aside, Kasumi never really seemed entirely like she has moved on, at least to me.
The fact that Hock is still hammering away at the greybox, and that Kasumi hasn't attempted to steal it back yet, also indicates to me that Keiji's death is more recent. If it had been a few years, I suspect Kasumi would have found someone else to help her and made an attempt at stealing the greybox before we meet up with her. It just doesn't seem to me like she'd sit around for too long with that greybox in Hock's hands.

That's funny, because I'm quite the opposite.
To me, because of her witty comments and the way she speaks, it feels like she's completely moved on. Though when you ask her about Keiji when you recruit her, she sounds a little down (of course). But then again, Kasumi is
a hard person to read. Kelly even says that when you've just recruited her.

Good point! It's very likely she would try to get someone else to help her, if he died a year ago or so. It looks like Shepard came in perfect timing then.
I just thought of something..
What will happen if you get Jacob killed in the Suicide Mission, recruit Kasumi after the Mission and then do the Lair of the Shadow Broker? Will the haiku still be there.. and will it mention Jacob?

Heh. Good question. The thought never occured to me.
I don't know for sure, but I suspect it would still show up. I'm guessing Bioware probably gambeled that most people will recruit Kasumi before the suicide mission.
Anyone want to play through the suicide mission without recruiting Kasumi just to test this...?

I figured a rose, since she used to replace what she stole with a single red rose. And that it was sort of romantic, if you will, so Kasumi and Keiji, as a couple, would have someting like that. But, glad you like it, Noble 6.
Oh, and I have a question for you..I am a fan of your Kasumi/DudeShep art, and wanted to ask if you ever planned one with Kasumi/FemShep as BFFs. If not, would you? I always figured them to be really good friends...
