My canon Shep was more interested in her personal safety than the Alliance secrets and felt that keeping it wasn't worth the long term headache. She would have kept it otherwise. :)

^^ Thats one of the reasons my Canon Shep also told her to destroy it.
Though the secrets contained within the greybox, do not necessarily have anything do with the Alliance. She says the Alliance could be implicated...Maybe we will find out in ME3 .

Speaking of ME3, hopefully there might be some news about Kasumi at E3 (only about 2 weeks away).

Btw, if anyone is interested, my secret Kasumi project probably won't be completed. Sadly, I bit off more than I can chew, though I'm still looking for ways to do accomplish it....

So, for now this new render will have to do:

Kasumi is easily my favorite squadmate. I can't believe this game was released without her, and she was added through a DLC. I also can't believe that Zaheed is confirmed as returning in "some capactiy" for ME3, and there is no mention of Kasumi. Her character has far more depth and is a thousand times more entertaining than that crazy old bastard.

My Shep will probably just give the Galaxy the finger and let the Reapers have it, if he doesn't get his Kasumi.

I've had her DLC for a while, but I only just got around making a new Shepard and playing. My gawd. She just skyrocketed to my second favorite squadmate/friend. My shotgunning adept is bringing her along with her everywhere, that girl is seriously endearing. (and she saves my Shepard's skin more often than anyone else with the flashbang, haha)

Considering that she has no interactive dialog, the quality of her ambient one and her loyalty mission sold me on her, big time. She really should have been in a core crew, not an optional DLC.

At the biotic god: "Aww... can we keep him?" :P

Edit: Stumbled on a funny screenshot. Kasumi looks darn sinister in the background, *laughs*.

Kasumi as an LI would be totally awesome. (Shame that i haven't got the DLC.)
However only not for my main Shepard. (Tali's got that covered and sorry for going off-topic.)

Kasumi is definetely my favorite character in Mass Effect, she saved my skin countless times with her Deadly Shadow Strike on insanity with my vanguard Sheppard.

Also, her dialoges are way too sweet: "She seems nice, in a mad scientist for sale kind of way"

^^ Very good news :o.
Now, lets just hope she doesn't get a small camo / appearance. We want interaction, and a fleshed out character :wizard:

"Shep! I've snatched your hampster before the Alliance got their hands on your loft!  And that prothean glowball you've picked up... and your old N7 Helmet!..." Kasumi grins as her cloak dissipates, and saunters towards the Commander. "Can I keep it? Will save me the trouble of doing another museum job when they put it there after you loose it again..."

I'm curious what she'll be up to in ME3 :).

Funny you talk about Kasumi taking Shep's things, as Preston Watamaniak said  "Shepard will have access to all of his (or hers) personal effects from ME2, the questions is, where are they?". So that might mean Kasumi has them (?).

^^ Aye it would be, but....Unless Bioware give you a choice of who your squaddies are, Kasumi will most likely not be a permanent squadmate (due to her being a DLC character).
However, that doesn't mean she might not be a squaddie for one special mission, or that she couldn't play a big(-ish) part in ME3 (maybe a LI, or spy / intel recovery expert for Shep).

I really hope she doesn't get a small appearance...Such as just to give you your stuff back, and give you information regarding the greybox's secrets (if you let her keep it) .

Just wanted to drop by and let everyone know that I've started a new Kasumi/Shepard fic that is a ME2 AU. It's called "Stealing Destiny" and you can find it on FanFiction.Net.

Jacob was a "core" character and he isnt coming back, he was also a LI for a few. We may see Kasumi, but if the squad is smaller than the one in ME2 then we will likely end up with her in a cutscene or a reference to the greybox choice.

Okay I've just gotta say, next to Garrus Kasumi is my FAVORITE character ever. Despite this though, I have a strange feeling in my stomach that Kasumi will be a main character in ME3...

DLC seems to be important to the ME franchise (heck they told the story from ME2 to 3 with Overload to LOTSB to Arrival all through purchased content) so I don't think she'll be scrapped due to being DLC. She was obviously supposed to play a big part in the game (and if she was supposed to be unimportant, why make the graybox and her loyalty mission tie into the storyline so much? why not make it simply to gain loyalty, like Zaeed's?) She's gaurunteed to make at least an appearance in ME3, it's been confirmed. I, however, think she'll play a very large role this time around. And if she does, then she wouldn't be the first DLC character to make a sequel as a full character in a BioWare game. (Anders anyone?)

If she's a main character and you didn't download her, she'll probably play out like Garrus if you didn't recruit him in ME1 or Wrex if you never met him. She'll probably seek Shepard out herself and ask to come along as opposed to her reminiscing with him about the suicide mission and the "good old days". If she died, then she simply won't be there along with Garrus or Tali. But this also puts Kasumi in an interesting position. She's an old face from the first game, yet hardly anything is known about her. This gives us plenty of time to get to know her all over again with interactive dialogue in ME3, and I gauruntee she'll skyrocket in popularity once she feels like a full character. From a BioWare standpoint, this would be a good strategy as you keep the fans you already made with this character and gain even more as you go into depth about her. Which is only magnified if she is a romance capability.

Which also leads me to my next fact. There are now same sex romances in ME3. While Kasumi was with Keiji, her sexuality is never truly defined. With a little tweaking, Kasumi could become a prime member of the new same sex community, which will be good news for Kasumi lovers as it would cement her inclusion in ME3. Again, that "old face with new features" position comes back around again. And of course, she's super hot, so the MenSheps will totally be all over dat ass.

Her powers are unique, she's one of the only tech/infiltrator types who can turn invisible and would balance out our team nicely. She could interact with the team greatly (she's done business with Liara, knows Garrus, loves Tali, Ashley could see her as a liability if she kept the graybox ect.) and with her personality of being a sentimental risk taker, I can't see her turning her back on shep when an adventure like this is right under her nose. And her personality is so rare in Mass Effect, we don't often see a blind optimist with cute dialogue come our way =) not to mention with all the new types of fighting (such as being able to take control of mechs and the new mounted turret firing sections of the game, a stealth mission might be a nice addition to the fray?)

Also, I've been wondering something... after the events of ME2, the Normandy has been taken over by the Alliance who claims it to be theirs. They are taking the ship apart and upgrading it while Shepard is on trial as a wanted criminal. However, it is told that all of Shepard's guns and personal affects are still available to you in ME3... which then the question was asked... who has them? Is this the work of our favorite asian thief? =) Maybe it's just me, but I could totally see Shepard escaping onto the normandy and going up to his/her cabin where all of his/her stuff is placed perfectly in the room. As he/she questions how it all got there, Kasumi uncloaks and remarks on how that recovering all of your items might be her last job as a thief. She then asks to join you on your final mission and off you all go to save the galaxy!

I don't know. Despite me loving her so much, I just realized that the more I thought about how she would fit into ME3, the more reasons I found that make it such a good idea. I totally support Ms. Goto and I guess all we can do now is wait and see =)

@_Vertigo_1 @pwatamaniuk @gtez "Sometimes I want to do a Morinth-and-Kasumi run, to have the grimmest ME3 possible."

Interesting.....I have yet to do this(can't bring myself to do it) and it makes me think that if mostly all of your squad dies in ME2 will Kasumi then be a permanent squad member?....How many characters have to die in order for Kasumi to be in the squad?....If everyone survives what dictates Kasumi to be in the squad?

twitter.com/#!/truffle/status/79387868778344449

"For those asking about "permanent" squad members, don't assume squad members will work the same way as me1 and me2"

This one lends me to believe characters are going to pop in and out of the squad this go round. Wonder if anyone stays with you the entire game.

Ireally love your ideas here Ilovemesometurian...especially her stealing Sheps gear and laying it out nicely for him...and I do hope she comes back a bi-sexual NPC....as you note, it's her personality and battle style, she is full of win...Kasumi, Garrus and Legion are my favorite squaddies...I love taking Kasumi and Garrus on my missions, they are my top pics due to their dialog and combat.....Kasumi's flash bangs have saved me more times than I can count and I have worked out a perfect battle strategy between her and my Widow toting Infiltrator Shep, she teams beautifully with him.
