This really is one of your strongest characters, BioWare.

They should have put Kasumi in as a main and left Thane for DLC. I almost never use Thane, but Kasumi is a great support character.

Kasumi is amazing. I still can't believe she wasn't in the game from the beginning.

When I first bought the DLC, I didn't expect much from it (not being a fan of official downloadable content in general), but after playing it... wow. Just wow. I was blown away.

Her introduction was awesome; her quest is very atmospheric, one of the best in the game; her background story is spot on; her looks are incredible (more so for those who have a soft spot for pretty asian girls *cough* like me *cough*); her voice acting may be a little unusual, but it fits her personality quite well. And above all is her character that I find lovely. It's great to see someone who enjoys hiding in the shadows, thievery and secrecy (traits usually associated with dark characters) but who is at the same time playful, witty, humorous and generally adorable. The combination is bewitching.

Couple all that with great effectiveness gameplay-wise and Kasumi became my favorite squad member (and character) in ME, I take her with my Shepard in every mission ^_^. There are no words to describe her awesomeness.

Bioware really outdid themselves. I'd be really sad if they decide to drop her from the ME3 squad; it would be a damn shame to leave behind such a perfect character. But hey - maybe if us fans keep it up like this we may see her play an important part in the next instalment. Remember how Tali became a LI for 2 after having such a massive fanbase ;) (though she wasn't a DLC character so she may have had better chances to begin with).

At any rate, it goes without saying that I fully support her.

Should of been in at the start without doubt.

Bio must of had her on the drawing board early on, so why they chose to leave her out is beyond me tbh.

Put it like this, instead of Kasumi they gave us -

Jacob, the most boring and pointless char that Bio have ever created, all he does is ponce around in a skin tight Cerberus outfit adding nothing of value to the game or story, only thing they missed with this guy was putting his pants over the top of his trousers for that superman look.

Samara or Jack, did we really need both, two fantastic biotics, err no, drop one, add Kasumi.

Thane, lol, the silent deadly killer, who errr is not silent or deadly, Kasumi blows him away in every way.

In my way of thinking both Kasumi and Zaeed are all the proof you need that Bio got the squad line up badly wrong from the start, they gave you tons of people, but it was quantity over quality.

Interesting question for yall's, but don't go full out fanboy on this one

If Kasumi was just in from the start, and made with the same amount of effort as Tali/Miri/etc, how many pages would this thread have in comparison to the rest? How many fans? As a DLC character with little history fleshed out, we don't have much to talk about until ME3! (hopefully)

For comparison:
Jack: 800 pages
Miri: 600 pages
Mordin: 30 pages
Grunt: 15 pages
Zaeed: 45 pages
Legion: 30 pages
Liara: 450 pages
Samara: 550 pages
Garrus: 1100 pages
Tali: 670 pages

I'd say around... 700 pages? Sounds about right!

Things have changed since then. Miranda, Tali, Liara, Ashley and i think Garrus as well have more pages in the ME3 character and romance section.

Yeah these forums have changed quite a bit since then. At one point the Tali thread was averaging about a hundred pages a day. And as much as I love me some Kasumi, I don't know if it could've competed with that.

If there are any die-hard Kasumi fans still subscribed to this thread, I think Kym Hoy is voicing a new commercial for Fido, a Canadian mobile phone company. I came across it as a pre-reel for a YouTube video, but I can't find it linkable anywhere. The best I could do was get a screenshot so that it's at least recognizeable on sight!

The tagline is something like, "living worry free: that's my beauty secret".

I'm not 100% sure it's her, and Google hasn't helped me confirm or deny it so far... I thought maybe one of you might be better at recognizing her voice — or maybe you'd know if she has a Facebook fanpage or something where people discuss that sort of thing.

I know I'd love to be alerted if Keythe Farley was doing anything, so I thought I'd share some of the (possible) love. ^_^

First-time poster, thought the Kasumi thread would be a great start!

I just wrapped up my first play through and really enjoyed her as a character. I thought she had a natural rapport with my femShep, that based on the personality I had given her, would grow into a best-friendship if I had acquired her earlier (or there had been more content developed for Kasumi).

Unfortunately, I decided to do the Suicide Mission as "blind" as possible (knowing only the ship upgrades saved characters before the landings), and Kasumi took a rocket in the face since I chose her for the vents and had Miranda (the ONLY non-Loyal character in my group) as the first Fire Team Leader. Kasumi ended up being the only character who died in my Mission run.

I'm still contemplating redoing that mission just to save Kasumi, but the ending, where Shepard was coincidentally saying goodbye to her while wearing the dress from the Loyalty mission, seemed too poignant to undo.
