kasumi dlc thoughts and feelings

I thought the cut scene of her on the final boss was way over the top and broke the immersion feel. Yeah, I know, it's sci-fi/fantasy, but Mass Effect has always been pretty good and not having anime style leaping around nonsense. Was a bit ridiculous.
Those are my only minor complaints, though. I loved it overall. The mission itself is probably now my favourite in game. I really enjoyed the museum stuff. Helped flesh out the universe.

I wonder how much the information on the Grey Box will be played out in ME3? Was this Bioware's way to let those of us who paid attention go "Hey....wait a minute...." ?
BTW, doing the fight outside against Hock & his buddies as a lvl 4-5 Engineer with an equally low level Kasumi on Veteran = Me going "Jesus, this crap is taking FOREVER!" Then doing it with my lvl 30 Infiltrator on Veteran = Me going "F*ck yeah. So easy....."
I did it on Insanity with an Engineer, probably level 15 or so. It took quite a while, but at least I felt like I got my money's worth.
Also, switching Kasumi to the Carnifex substantially increases her damage to the gunship. Too bad I only did this towards the end.

Also, did anyone notice that Kasumi has some kind of optic augmentation? In the fight, Hock is delivering Harbinger-style lines, and one of them is "Your eyes will fetch a high price on the open market".
OH MY GAWD. Hock is the Shadow Broker!

I thought the end was a bit cheesy when Kasumi jumped onto the gunship. To me it seemed like something out of Prince of Persia and didn't quite fit in with the rest. I get that she's an infiltration expert but effortlessly hopping on the pipes onto the gunship seemed cartoonish compared to the rest of the mission. That's just my opinion, though, and it certainly didn't spoil the mission.
To be fair, this is just another example of Cutscene Awesomeness. ME2 already has a long tradition of this, with Jack punching out heavy mechs and thane's neck snapping kung fu.

I'm curious as to how others thought of the femShep formal wear. Personally, I hated it. To me, it looked to "business like", not really formal...maybe because I am guy, I was looking for elegantly sexy or something.
Ever heard gossiping that goes along the lines of "Have you seen her dress, my dear..."? Yeah, it's totally normal for (wo)men to dismiss other women's dresses
I wonder if Turian women dismiss dresses with air quotes...

edit: In addition, as someone who normally plays non-soldier classes, I am very happy with the Locust SMG - I no longer feel that I am held hostage by the Haelstrom mission just to get the Tempest SMG.

"you are with the alliance? my brother is private back on earth!"
that was one of her lines I always liked her voice
Now...the mission was good, it was lenghty enough, the new SMG is is beastly and Aestetically pleasing and the package would be perfect if we could converse with her fully...I hope she will return fully in ME3

- Kasumi is funny and likeable, while still being badass and flawed.
- Mission was super fun and atmospheric. The vault was so cool! Really wish I could have taken the Saren statue with me, put it in my cabin and have a permanent "glare" button for it.
- Locust SMG is delicious.
- YES! NORMANDY HAS A BAR! HIRE. AETHYTA. NOW!
- New casual outfits are sweet, though FemShep looks pretty absurd wearing hers on the ship.
- Final choice was pretty odd. Told her to destroy it (kindly, the middle option) with my paragon because she thought it would hurt Kasumi's life in the long run and let her keep it with my paragade, because he doesn't give 2 s**ts about the Alliance and understood her need for memories. I would've liked more info on the "info", but I think we've all got a pretty clear idea of what it may be: Something involving a Cerebus/Alliance/Reapers cover-up or experiments.
All in all, a 9/10.

Just lost about 4hours of gameplay, I went back and did the same, I like to make sure people return in ME3, weither its making sure everyone lives or something like this... Besides I found it creepy, it seemed she would just sit in a dark room and watch the vids all her life. Greiving is one thing but that idea seemed obsessive.rorrim180 wrote...
I thought the 7 dollars was worth it. I've got a brand new gun and squad member to play through the entire story again. As far as the grey box information goes, I'm not sure. I picked the middle of the road and went with, "It's what he wanted", tjem then destroyed it for her. I think if you tell her to keep it she won't return in ME3. She says that she "thinks" it's what she wants, that she'll "stay off the grid", etc. to protect herself and the data. Just my two cents.
Great job on the DLC, devs.

1. Bring Down the Sky
2. Kasumi's Stolen Memory
3. Zaeed
4. Firewalker Pack
5. Normandy Crash Site
6. Pinnacle Station
My verdict: It was fun, entertaining, and put a lot of backstory into Kasumi and why she was after the graybox. The only gripe about it was that it wasn't really worth the price, as you can beat it in 45 minutes, at the longest. The room in the Normandy was as expected, though I would like to have gotten drunk with at least one squadmate, and share a tale of good times like the Ice Brandy with Chakwas. The whole backstory with The Statue of Liberty was awesome, and the vault was the best part of the DLC, along with FemShep's new dress (ShepLoo can't get a nice tux??).

I had the same feeling about the way she went right to viewing the data after I told her to keep it. I thought it was way too creepy and obsessive and decided that getting rid of the data without being a jerk to her was the way to go for me. Fortunately, I made that decision right after I completed the quest and didn't lose any gameplay time.

Did they ever actually say what the data was? I'm just wondering if I missed something. From what I gathered it was something important that implicated the Alliance in something really really bad. And with that flash of what looked like a reaper (at least to me) at the beginning of the data stream just makes me that much more curious as to what Keiji was hiding.

pic up anywhere yet?

Speaking of the size of the download, is it my imagination or are the load times between levels on the Normandy now quicker than they were? ie is there new game code in the dlc too?
I'm pretty sure there is new code, I play on a 24" computer monitor and I'm absolutely positive that when you're cruising around in the Normandy flying planet to planet/system to system the actual size of the Normandy graphic is smaller than what it was before. I think it loads faster too, but I'm not positive.
One way to know for sure if it's definitely fixed some gamecode I guess would be if the Morinth/Samara showdown on the 360 has it's sound back, but I'm not banking on it.

The plot had one rather large hole, however: that Kasumi and the people at the party didn't know what Shepard looked like. He's been interviewed by broadcasters, he's used in Alliance recruitment ads and he was humanity's poster boy, for pity's sake. Couldn't they have given him a Mission Impossible style mask, or something?
Kasumi also seems to have been... very heavily enhanced. She basically reveals herself to be a superhero in the final cutscene, which is awesome -- but it came a bit out of the blue.
And, for my super nitpick, there's a rather glaring error in the Graybox codex entry: "When Synthetic Insights first released them onto the market in 2140, grayboxes were hailed as a way humans could level the playing field between themselves and the salarians..." Lol whut? First contact was in 2157. Guess it could just be a typo, but that kind of thing crops up in the planet/colony descriptions more frequently than I'd like, too.
But, I don't want to end on a negative note. The DLC was a blast, Kasumi is a fantastic character (who will now never leave my squad, thanks to the kickass backstab ability) and I don't regret buying it for a second. Also, mixing drinks is fun!
EDIT: Loved the history lesson regarding the Freedoms First group, the UNAS and the statue of liberty, too.
I did. Pretty sure it was Jennifer Hale voicing it, too. Good to hear the Bastila-voice again.xI extremist Ix wrote...
