I suspect most of you have watched the four gameplay videos that Bioware released sometime ago on youtube, with the guy narrating as he went through it. Something I noticed that seemed quite odd, though.
In the final part of the fourth video, it shows Cailan being snatched up by one of those ogres, and in a very ominous kind of way fades to black. It didn't show what happened, but hinted what might all the same. Some sort of cliff hanger, maybe.
Yet, in some very short two minute or so official interviews on the same dragonage youtube account, it shows the next split second of that scene, the King getting butchered by the ogre.
Oh, I'm not complaining or anything, or that it gave away spoilers. It just seems like a weird decision to place footage.
Kind of a bad consistency regarding trailers

well, not everyone watches every game video released, so I guess they didn't bother too much about it. Even if it happens, there is always the possibility you can stop it from happening (which, particularly, I doubt), so it's not like a definitive decision.
EDIT: grammar mistake, just saw it

Being more specific: In recent videos, we already establish that the King dies.

yup what a weak king to be killed by an ogre. Just being picked up and squeezed.

really? probably I didn't see or pay attention to that,, but I'm ok with it, don't like Cailan, and it will probably bring the succession question up and add some drama about the heir ;D

I pretty much expected Cailan to not be very clever at all, and the way he speaks grates on my nerves.. So yay?
Though I have to agree I didn't like seeing this in a trailer on youtube I was disappointed... But I guess it's supposed to be a known fact anyway?!

I guess Cailan's death sets up the primary quest of the Grey Wardens uniting the armies to fight the Darkspawns.

Wow, sucks to be him, but if he has to die so we have an epic quest to go on... well, so be it!

We, the player will probably have to make important decisions which will in the end decide who will be king of Ferelden.

Anora can start packing right away then, there's (almost) a new queen in townBebbe777 wrote...

But honestly that's not really surprising to me
"I cannot wait for that glorious moment. The Grey Wardens battle beside the King of Ferelden to stem the tide of evil."
Coming from someone who hasn't exactly seen much battle is rather... errrr ambitious

Yea. This takes place a few hours in, right after your very own origins introductory story ends and you've just been accepted into the Grey Wardens.
