Kasumi doesn't shut up, I love it! Dialogue has always been my favorite part of Bioware games and this DLC delivers on that front. Compared to Zaeed, Kasumi is so much more interesting and personable. She referenced my relationships with different crewmates. Kasumi talked about Tali's feelings for my Shepard, that was insane! And most importantly Kasumi has an interesting story and she tells it well.

The mission itself was fantastic. I loved the first half! It was so classy. I just walked around the mansion listening to what everyone had to say for a good 15 minutes before I even attacked any objectives. Figuring out how to break into the vault was fun and new. Some of the gags in the private quarters had me laughing. That's what I want from my Mass Effect 2 DLC, some humor and fan service. And of course the combat was as fun as ever! The last encounter was good stuff.

I'm too ready for some more DLC, Bioware! I want to give you more of my money! More missions, more fanservice, an expansion. I'll buy it all.

For you, for me, Zaeed trumps everyone.  Difference between an immature Thief and an old, Mercenary who's killed across the Terminus sector for over 20 years.

That being said, she does have nice dialogue, again the wheel not bothering me.  As much as I'm against more ****ty romance plots, Kasumi feels as though she's begging to get your attention.

I like the new dress for my femshep, and the mission has a good mix of combat and puzzle-like objectives. I especially like the bold move by Kasumi toward the end of the fight.

For the male shep new clothing, it really looked like a re-rendered, more plain version of the Captain's outfit.

Well in ME1, I was all about the Adept, but really with the advent of the different classes in ME2, and how they actually FEEL and play differently, The vanguard is really just the most fun. There have never been so many "Oh Sh******!!!" moments and then that wonderful feeling of triumph when you realize that everyone is in fact dead and you have survived once again. Each battle feels like a real victory.

I love the adept, and I love the Infiltrator, but the adept takes a bit too long with some battles, and the Infiltrator is just...lol, unfair for the enemies so I think the Vanguard really does hit the sweet spot. Nothing's more glorious than crossing a distance, utterly ignoring any obstacles and overwhelming the enemy :D

A bit off-topic, but I have to comment on this...

Bioware did a terrific job reforming the way the classes play in ME2, i give you that.
I still think that the game lacks a bit of RPG and I miss the elaborate poinst distribution, but I'm confindent that they will put something better in ME3, IMHO of course.

I usually play as a Sentinel or Adept in ME1, but Vanguards and Soldiers have much more options now, in the first game they are pretty much the same, tanks that soak fire on the enemies on open terrain.
I was playing as a Vanguard the other day, recruting Garrus, when I dropped the shields from one Blue Suns soldier (I was playing in hardcore, don't remembered what level I was, but already have the +10% biotic power from the Firewalker mission).
In the middle of the charge two more Blue Suns appeared and I think to myself "WTF, I'm dead!". So, if I'm dead, at least they will go down with me.

I charged one, then I see the other two were stripped from the shields (thanks Miranda and Grunt) and charged the second, then I charged the third.
One after another.

It was the last wave of mercs, so when they were all dead I only listen Miranda crying "Impressive!".
Gain my day, what a fun fight!

Played it, finished it, and really enjoyed it. Loved the Bond-esque nature of the set-up and the main villain. Kasumi rocks, both as a character and a squaddie (in some ways her combat techniques are a little more what I was expecting from Thane). About the only think I would have liked was some more depth to the party itself. Just some party-mingling stuff at the start, even if it served no purpose other than to chat with other guests and engage in some meaningless conversation (if it had gotten you some codex entries then bonus). Something akin to the classic "villain host introduces the hero to important guests" scene would have been nice... a bar where you can chat with the bartender and other drinking guests... a table with a blackjack-esque game to earn credits on as a minigame... stuff like that.

Still, a really good piece of DLC. Highly recommended.

it was fun, nice subtle references btw : the weekly badass, the ogre statue from DA:O.

it wasn't mindblowing but it's surely the best ME2 dlc so far.

To those complaining that she neither sounds nor looks Japanese -

Get a clue would you.

My first name is of Japanese origin yet i don't look Asian. My great-grandfather was however and it's tradition that the males in my family are called by Japanese names.

More so in the ME universe as most nationalities are almost thoroughly mixed. Look at Anderson.

Yes! The silly Ogre from DA:O!

Running around in that fly suit and a pistol was pretty badass too.

I thought the loyalty mission was a nice change of pace and highly interesting. It seems to bring up more questions than answers, but aside from the cheesey "Kasumi leaps all over a gunship, Final Fantasy style" moment, I enjoyed it. Short, but sweet.

As far as the permanent additions, no doubt, Kasumi is a beast and her skills are pretty high-powered in a fight. I imagine she will be a mainstay in the party for many players. The Locust SMG is a great addition that makes it easier for players to not have to rely on waiting to choose and assault rifle on the Collector Ship.

My only complaints about the Locust SMG are:

- Sounds incredibly wimpy :(

- Gun is a little too narrow.

- It looks so cool with it's vertical grip, yet it is still held like a pistol!!!!!!! *cry*

The mission was great, but unlike the others, I cannot stand the monologues. If there's no dialogue then it feels much soda machine in the Citadel. I hope we will never see that again. It makes a great character feel like Zaeed.

I started the mission at a low level. From now on I am using her in every mission. I cannot say much whether I like her abilities yet. Let's see how it goes. ;)

I thoroughly enjoyed the DLC. The view from the mansion is beautiful. +10 for effort there. What I wouldn't give to wander the streets of another Mass Effect megalopolis...

Quite enjoyable, with one minor nitpick - if it was to be a steal and run mission, why oh why were few of the key areas so easily accessible from the lounge? Sort of ruins the illusion. Very fun otherwise though.

Well, finished the mission, and I had a good time. Kasumi may very well be one of my very favourite characters.
I still think everything about Mass Effect 2 is far too streamlined in the exploration. There is virtually no cerebral content to speak of. Every piece of the puzzle is placed right in front of you, as though it would be a chore to actually stop and think for a second.
Just one other thing.
- Hock's voice over?
It was painful. Very sorry, but that might very well be some of the most jarring and inconsistent voice acting I ever heard.

Yeah, I've thought about that, and it actually does make a reasonable amount of sense. Lots of people in western Europe have Hebrew and Russian names without having any ties to the countries/languages those names come from, so why wouldn't westerners in the future also have Japanese names? And "Alenko" sounds like it's probably Ukranian, and there's never any explanation for that either.

Then again, if that's the reason for her name, why does her boyfriend just happen to also have a Japanese name? I still say they did this for the japanophiles, but it's not unrealistic or anything.

She has more to say than some characters WITH a wheel. What she has to say about the stuff in her room is interesting, her personality is distinct, she subtly plays on stereotypes; her mission is interesting, it's beautifully designed, you can hear Hale doing the Bastilla voice in the background :P, it has some interesting insights into the ME world, it has a sweeeet SMG and a good personal story.

A radial response ring does not a better developed character make.

I enjoyed it. Nice change of pace with the infiltration part of the mission, looking around the vault was cool too. Did anyone read the codex entry for Lady Liberty?

From the trailer I thought I wouldn't like Kasumi as a character, but she isn't nearly as annoying as I thought she would be. The only thing I didn't like from the DLC was Hock' voice.

Yeah, well, it's not like anyone's saying that. A radial response ring and the possibility of a 10-second PG13 "sex scene" before the endgame, that's what makes a well developed character apparently.
;)

I kid. You're absolutely right.

No, but it does give a feeling of interaction that monologues when clicked don't.  I was (minorly) disappointed that we couldn't chat back and forth, as Kasumi is such an interesting character.  With Zaeed, he struck me as the sort of old guy who launches into stories at the drop of a hat, so it felt more right for him.

That said, I suspect it's a lot more work to animate and voice both Shepard and a NPC with all the different conversation branches.  It might be a bit much to expect for a DLC.

Thank you, jeez you don't know how many people think us asians need to look like typical stereotypes portrayed in red alert 3 if you played XD
