I like the new formal wear for both my male and female Shepards. I only have a small issue with how femsheps move in their dresses. It's too masculine. They probably should have motion captured some more feminine movement.
The new SMG is a welcome addition. it's rate of fire is slower than I like, but it does the job.
Whether or not Kasumi sounded Japanese depends what you think a Japanese person sounds like. If people are disappointed that she didn't like your typical heavily accented Japanese stereotype then I think people need to get over it. Kasumi sounded like a Japanese-american to me. (knowing what I know) As far as her appearance, I fail to see how she doesn't look Japanese.

Christ your quick aren't you. All that means is that her father was of Japanese descent.
Actually, no.
What it means is the name is very japanese and thefor the expectation is of the character also look Japanese and sound Japanese, the whole attempt at excusing the voice acting comes off as rather "fanboyish" since we have FOUR npcs (Kasumi, Kaiden, Keiji and Kahoku) with Japanese names so far and none sounds japanese (or japense descent), its clear they dont care (no suprises there).
And before anyone brings up LORE again (Lore is the brother of Data as far as I CARE on Sci-Fic), let me put this way ... do Californians sound like New Yorkers?
So unless what happened was I got bored and just wiped about the majority of the human population with the exception of some people in North America ... well NO, they would not sound the same and ninus points for the whole of "human diversity" they just shoved on ME2 when CULTURALY AND SOCIALLY HUMANKIND HAVE BEEN REDUCED TO NORTH AMERICANS:
Oh and Years ago I played a very horrible game by Origin (after EA adquired it) called Privateer 2: The Darkening and the reason I recall the game was not because it sucked (it did) but because the voice acting was so overwheling British (Brian Blessed, John Hurt, Mathilda May, David L. McCallum, Clive Owen among others) that it was so strange, it looked like we finaly got fed up and launched the entire population of England into space.

Okay, let's see if I can keep this spoiler free. The short version is, I liked it.
I played it on Hardcore, took about 90 minutes. The bit where you're running around in formal wear is puzzle solving, and there's plenty of background dialogue going on, plus a pretty cool environment. The rest is a series of combat setpieces. The environments are really cool and there's a totally awesome moment close to the end, but the combat sequences are a bit on the simple side in terms of how the terrain is laid out and where the enemies come from. I won't say more about strategies as that's kinda spoiler-y. There's also a decision you have to make that may affect ME3.
I found Kasumi's voice to kinda clash with her appearance at first too, but I think that's just because the character really isn't what you'd expect, which is nice. She's not the stereotypical Rogue.
Dialogue scenes are pretty exensive, there's lots of loot everywhere and stuff to play with in Kasumi's room on the Normandy. I found the new gun more useful than the other two SMGs - it's super-accurate. The tradeoff being the small clip.
All in all, there's lots of content here, the plot works, the new gun's good, the character's good, I had fun for 90 minutes, and I'm sure glad I bought this. The only thing I don't understand is why the main bad guy talks funny.
I'm sure this thread will be drowning in the usual complaining by tomorrow morning, but I'll just point and laugh. This thing rocks, and I'll play it with all my other Sheps too. Money well spent.
Donovan talks like that because he's Seeth Eefrican.
*Afrikaans.
South African would in fact refer to the indigenous people of South Africa.
Edit:
Oh, and Drakron. I'm Scottish, I come from Scottish family, have strong ties to a scottish clan, my family has lived in scotland for generations innumerable. But I was born in England whilst my Dad was studying in London to get his Engineering PhD. I lived there for my first seven years of life, as he started teaching in Imperial College.
Despite being as Scottish as whisky and kilts, my accent is very neutral, because it was influenced by living in England but also by my scottish family.
I'm a Scotsman born in England and I don't sound very Scottish (Though the burr is beginning to infect my voice again.)
A californian raised in New York for a good while of their formative years will sound, *gasp*, like a new yorker.
A Frenchman raised in London will likely as not develop a London accent.
So, your statement is somewhat invalid.
That said, I do agree that the overwhelming amount of NA voice actors is lazy. Especially since Captain/Councillor Anderson was born and raised in London.

seems like bioware listened to all the threads complaining about the lack of the crews acknowledgment of Shepards LI's. I love how kasumi commented on shepard and mirandas relationship.
Also jacob and shepard now have a bar on the normandy as they joked about for future normandy's.
Donavan hocks house and the surrounding environment was awsome, glad they added another system to the widow cluster showing that there actually are people living around the citadel and its not just in the middle of nowhere..
having said that hocks voice made him sound like a borderline retard, not an intelligent master-criminal

Not sure about the Locust yet as Kasumi is so pro at that shadowstrike skill she didn't fire it alot xD
Very satisfied and look forward to starting a new playthrough to do this instead so I can take her with me as a normal squaddie on all the missions.
On a sidenote - the vista from Hock's house was gorgeous - major props for the environment view

-The flash bang thing I guess made sense now that you mention it and I did forget you had to unlock it for her. Even still it seems very odd that all of a sudden we have enemies using them in this one mission.Lord_Tirian wrote...
Some remarks on your post... because some things stand out...Note that the flash bang effects in the mission are from your enemies, throwing grenades at *you* - that's why the effect is so disorienting and has no effect on enemies. Kasumi doesn't have the flash bang power during her mission (like all loyalty powers).Darth Drago wrote...
-Flash Bang. When she used them it was a bit disorienting to me as well, more so than it should have been. Not even sure if it had a real affect on the enemies.
Once you use the flash bang grenade yourself, it won't look distracting and have a very noticeable knock-down effect on enemies (the power is down-right amazing so far).Note that she has a new dialogue bit after lots of story mission, as far as I can tell. She also comments on romances. It's not as good as real dialogue, but it's fun to listen to, so make sure to talk to her occasionally when you do a new playthrough.Darth Drago wrote...
-No real dialog. Just like Zaeed (again) her room is full of stuff you can click on to hear what she has to say. You can click on her as well but her dialog she says is very limited.Oh, come on, that wasn't bad, that was funny!Darth Drago wrote...
-A certain part in the mission where you need to collect stuff to open a safe. Without trying to give away things, lets just say the looking at the plants part. I’m not the brightest bulb in the world but searching there for what you might find was just stupid to me to even be a choice. Kasumi even comments on it as well.
-Her dialog she says when you click on her is still very limited. Whne she mentioned my romance with Garrus it threw me off a bit because I couldn’t remember if this indeed was the Shepard that had the Garrus romance. Lol.
-As funny as the “plant” thing was for what she said at least, it just seemed kind of stupid in implementing it in the hunt. Her comment is similar in manner and tone to the Hammerhead VI’s comment when you hover over the acid in that one level like it even couldn’t believe you cant hover over it.
-All fairness to it I do think Shepard calls the Normandy but of course there is no dialog. The whole thing that bugs me most is just how fast the shuttle shows up after your last shot is fired.spacehamsterZH wrote...
Darth Drago wrote...
-The end of her loyalty mission was a let down. No sooner does the dust settle after the final battle does your shuttle show up. No scratch that, I think your shuttle flew through that dust since it arrives so fast.
I more or less disagree with everything in your post, but this kind of bugs me too. I guess it's acceptable since it isn't really the end of the mission, but only the lead-in to the ending cutscene, but it does come across as very strange that they wouldn't even radio them first or something.

Actually, no.
I never said people are stuck with a accent as its not a genetic trait, if you live long enough on a place you end up picking up the local accent.
You can have a Anglo-Saxon with a Japanese accent if he lived all his life in Japan, that is normal but what I pointed out is you dont expect someone called Jonh Hurt speaking with a French accent.
What I stated was people expect someone with a Japanese name to look and sound Japanese, end of story and the whole thing attenpting to excuse it with "lore" ends up shoot down by the game itself by people having ... accents.
You cannot have your cake and eat it too and I am tired of people saying just that.

Loved it. Interesting story. Good balance of run and gun AND thoughtful gameplay. Like the gun. Interesting story. Outfit is alright. Did I say interesting story yet? Oh, I did. Good. BUT and that is a BIG BUT the cost does not sync with the length of the mission or it's content. Very, very good DLC but seven bucks is no good.

So basically all white people sound one way, all black people sound another way, all chinese people sound another way, etc. It's funny you use the New York comparison. If you have ever been to New York you would meet plenty of Japanese with Japanese names that don't have an accent. You would meet plenty of Germans with no german accent. The list goes on. The only thing you show is your lack of knowledge for the outside would.
My name is Kalya Ramkissoon, but according to you I should have have a turbine and work at 7/11 right? I should prob be Muslim and have a dot on my head. Well guess what, I'm not. I'm atheist, never been to India, don't know crap about my culture and neither does my mom to a certain extent. I'm from NYC and trust me, I'm faaaarrrr from being alone. Step outside your door for once in your life. The vast majority of Americans the live here don't fit your stereotype.
