recently finished ME2 with Adept on Normal and it was pretty easy
considering a second playthrough on a higher difficulty, but would like to do it with the class most different from Adept.
also, are there any differences between the male / female Shepard playthrough?

Vanguard is also quite opposite. Adept is based on range and vanguard is close up.

a soldier is different but its just not fun. i would take the engineer. if you like having alot of abilities to use like the adept from ME1 you might like the engineer. the adept has alot of abilities but you dont really use them all. if your looking for a different level of fun try the engineer. incinerate, overload, drone, even cryo freeze is effective CC. i havent even tried the engineer yet but looking at its abilities you have alot to toy around with on every difficulty. theres alot to offer with the engineer, maybe switch up your bonus talent or weapon. im trying a dominate/AR engineer once i finally am able to unlock dominate.
