I was pointing out that the romances and love scenes are not "sex for the sake of sex". They are a part of the fabric of the story. Though one can roleplay, especially when romancing Zevran or Morrigan, that you initially start out just having sex to blow off steam and have a little release from the stresses of your life. Non-committal sex with a companion can add to the RP experience, especially when you consider that both Morrigan and Zevran's initial "fling sex" can potentially become something more.



Sex for the sake of sex=the Pearl. It can add a little role playing fun depending on your character. As well as quite a bit of amusement.



Whether sex for love, or sex because you have an itch that needs to be scratched, sexuality is a major part of human existance for the majority of people on the planet. It's a fact of life, and in a game that covers such a broad array of human emotions and conditions, I think that having sex in the game is valid and does add to the overall story, in different ways. Tghough you can also play a more chaste character, if it suits your taste.



If anything actually seems pointless or out of place in the story, it's some of the murder-knife scenarios that add nothing to the game, no consequences or any real character/story development.

Skadi, you most certainly can have a chaste romance with Zevran. You do have to proposition him once (unfortunately, it's not very obvious if you aren't going to the tent) but that doesn't lead to sex, and there are different dialogs if you haven't had sex with him.

The downside to a chaste relationship with Zevran is if you do have sex after he's declared his feelings and such, you still get his normal beginning and ending sex dialogs, which are not appropriate at that stage of the relationship.

It's hard to imagine such a thing, but could certainly provide some rather interesting role play scenarios. Maybe eventually I will get around to making a "chaste" character and see if I can manage it.



I don't know if I could pull it off. Seems like "elf abuse". Especially after cruelling locking him in a chasity belt for my own perverse amusement. I swear, it might have been me, but the kicked puppy look when I did that rivaled Alistair,.

Just don't go to the tent with him.  He only asks once, but you won't lose approval if you turn him down nicely (dialog choice, "we're not exactly alone").  Where he has different dialogs though is when he forces you to choose between him and someone else, when you proposition him just after he falls in love and is rejecting the warden (needs to be done to finish the romance as you know), and when he talks to you about your plans if you're getting married to Alistair/Anora.

Like I said, though, the downside is, if you finally DO go to the tent after he falls in love, unless you have Dialog Tweaks installed, you get his same before and after sex talk.  And that is hardly romantic at all.

Ahhhh! Learn something new everyday! I never tried that. His kind offer of a massage is nearly impossible to to turn down, so I've yet to do it. Who knows, I might explore that avenue one day.



Dialogue tweak mods are a godsend. Bioware really dropped the ball in alot of cases, like non-King Alistair's post landsmeet coronation delusions, the good by love speeches by Zev or Alistair at the gates of Denerim, Wynne's blood magic tattle fest, ect.



Good at least, that there is a dialogue fix for Zevy's chaste first time love lines.

There's also a fix for Zev's lines at the City Gates. Fixes a lot actually! (insert shameless self promotion here)

Yes, I saw that. Dialogue tweeks also allows you to engage in public displays of affection with him. Which I've often wondered why the option to make kissy-face with Zev whenever you want was not present in the unmodded game. Zevran, of all the romancables, strikes me as the most happy to engage in public displays of...just about anything. And I wanted Zev to do his dwarf kiss right in front of Gorim in Denerim.

Edit: And yes, DT just is amazing.  Even if it only added that kiss, I would use it always!  But it fixes a lot more.

Ah yes, that's true. But in my case Fem!Tabris was propositioning him just to mess with his head. I guess it really depends on how you RP it. xP But my point was engaging in the act isn't at all a requirement when you're romancing someone in the game. It's just something that adds a little more spice to it; at least that's how I see it.
