I don't think it's a good idea. Why would a Qunari come and fight for Ferelden? The main reason Sten helped the Grey Warden was because he needed to learn what the blight was. Werewolf? That would be troublesome. Unlike elves and dwarves, who attract some attention when entering human villages, a werewolf would set the rooftops on fire. Metaphorically speaking.

you play awakening yet?
theres a merchant in it (who is a qunari) who says the Qun is a lie, since he is trying to make a living in ferelden, i can see why he'd want it defended, besides, if the main character was killed before ending the blight, and it took over ferelden, it would eventually lead to the Qunari's land, you'd bet your ass they'd fight then.

as for werewolves you do make a good point, but no one seemed to notice Shale, a GOLEM , which is uncommon even in orzammar, not to mention she said alot of violent things to people.

although a werewolf would not be accepted, or at least not easily, if it was a Grey Warden, or with a Grey Warden, people would likely back off.
and as for the one's in the game being turned back (if you sided with elves), there were werewolves before then, and i wouldn't be surprised if a few packs were hiding somewhere, and became intelligent.

I'd say you're stretching it with the werewolf and darkspawn idea. Qunari though is a great idea. More diversity FTW.

Qunari with it's own Origin story starting possibly in Par Vollen, and then sailing off to where ever the story goes from there. I'd love it!

I still dont know why qunari where not a race available in DA:O to begin with, as well as picking say a mage you should have been able to to choos 3 backrounds one from the mage tower one from the dailish elf forest and one choosing apostate mage backround. What do u guys think about this?

I completely agree I hated that the only choice for mages was circle mage for example the dalish origin would work just as good with a pc mage

I noticed on another thread somewhere that people wanted to play as werewolves too. There should be a lot more character races for the origin stories to mix things up a bit and make it more fun. For people who want a werewolf character: I was just thinking, since the werewolf don't seem intelligent enough to be wardens, maybe we could have them as a companion, or another idea I got after just completed the quest with the stone barbarian in the Wending Wood of DAO: Awakening, I thought maybe we could play as a barbarian (even though that particular race has been dead for 1000 yrs) of a different race, but has a wolf skin costume giving the appearance of a werewolf.

Maybe if an idea of an new type of origin has enough support might be worth informing Bioware, never know :wizard:

Qunari origin would be a great idea, and very interesting. Or Sten's comeback. One or the other ^^

Ive got a good idea for the Qunari orgin, U all remember sten telling shale that the qunari was probably gonna attack ferelden, then why not having the main story being about qunaris attacking ferelden, and you are sten the comander..or was he a general? annyways cool right? :o

A dwarf from the other Dwarven stronghold, A Chasind, A Qunari mercenary, a non noble Human, a Tevinter and an Orelsian. All things I would enjoy playing as. I also want to go into those southern wastelands and have a look around.

I'd love to see some apostate mage love too. Give them their own specialties and stuff (like shapeshifter and keeper specialties, but maybe mage trees?). That'd be coooool.

Qunari definitely has to be added in an origin story, along with a templar/chantry origin for human and more dwarf origins of different caste.
