I really want Shadow Strike on my Shepard. I wish that had been kasumi's loyalty power.

I'd love for there to be a thief class, basically a Vanguard with Shadow Strike instead of Charge.  But it would be redundant with Kasumi, so I'll just to be envious as I watch her zip around the battlefield.

I don't stay up nights worrying about whether things are OP or not.  But wow, just did the Samara loyalty mission on Insanity with Zaeed and Kasumi and honestly never broke a sweat.  And this is my first time playing Insanity.  The Locust is just what the doctor ordered for my Infiltrator--  now I save the Widow shots for the tough opponents.

I will probably take the bonus power with my soldier seems to fit the class. Does the locust replace the revenant? :D probably not but ill ask anyway. im at work not yet home to DL and test.

Soldiers get the revenant. Soldiers don't use SMGs.
Everyone else gets SMGs. They can't get revenant.

Somewhat exclusive club there. Soldiers ought to be jealous.

Irritates the hell out of me that my soldier can't use an SMG, particularly since my favorite gun is the semi automatic, ammo burning Vindicator (with the Widow).  This being the case the close range full auto Tempest or the more acurate full auto Locust would both compliment my loadout far better than the Carnifex or the Predator which both function like a less effective and less accurate Vindicator.  I'm a damned weapon's expert why the hell can't I use an SMG?

On the uphand its a great weapon for every other class, just not my favorite class.  It does make choosing assault rifles as a bonus power rather redundant; but that's for the best anyway since choosing a Sniper Rifle or a shotgun tends to be more useful and/or fun anyway.

Still, I wish there was some way my soldier could equip an SMG.  I mean both the SMG and the pistol equip to the same spot on the hip anyway, it doesn't seem like it should be too difficult to change the weapon locker screen so I could equip both to the same slot.  I doubt it will happen though.

Implodinggoat you don't have room for a sixth weapon. You could mod your game so you have SMG's instead of, say, heavy pistols

I'm aware of the fact that I don't have room for a 6th weapon that's why I proposed that SMGs be equipped to the same slot as the pistol.  So you'd bring up the armor locker and in the slot (singular) where you equip your pistol you could equip a pistol or an SMG.  You'd still have 5 weapons you'd just have more options when it came to the 5th.

As for modding, this is true if you own the PC version; but I do not.  I prefer the console controls (matter of taste), I played ME1 on the 360, and I'd have to upgrade my PC to play ME2 for PC, so I'm stuck on 360.   I do miss the mods though, definitely one of the highlights of PC gaming.

I like her, although I'm a tad irritated that her quarters are so much cooler than mine.

I don't care about here living quaters. She's the balls for taking out enemies in cover.

I suppose he means Samara recruitment mission. Though i would give one of my lungs to see Zaeed dancing and trying to be charming in that mission.

Ha!  Yes, the recruitment mission.  But I'd also pay to see Zaeed do that.

(and by the way, that's she, not he.  There's more of us girl geeks playing these games every day :D )

Didn't mean to imply you were a man. I come from a "masculine by default" culture, so i tend to go that way when i don't know who i'm talking about. Sorry.

Back to topic, I've just gone through Kasumi mission, in insanity, and i really really enjoyed it. She proved to be really resourceful and more powerful than expected. Only issues i've got with her are being constantly interrupting the action  to use her shadow strike on a good target, and that it seems to me that she "forgets" that i ordered her to hold a position after she returns from the strike (so, instead of coming back and stay where i told her, she comes back and then tends to move to another position / float around looking for another cover). Anyway, i think i'm putting her in my usual squad.

Maybe the problem is more in my gameplay than in her, though, dunno, any of you noticed those two things, or is it just me being too nitpicky?

No worries, wasn't offended, just teasing a bit.

I saw that, too.  But to be honest, I have that problem with other squaddies.  Garrus always seems to dash around after being to told to stay put, too.  So it might be an overall AI thing.  Or it might be "stay until you are ordered to move" and the shadow strike counts as a move order.

And yes, Kasumi poaches the high value targets sometimes, just when my infiltrator is about to squeeze off a shot with the Widow.  A bit of a centre stage sort, Kasumi is.

Also the locust is very awesome and so is the flash bang grenade. Though I'll stick with armor piercing for my sentinel seeing as he does not have an ammo power to begin with(plus it is great when used on the locust). It goes with my vindicator like butter on bread. The vindicator does more damage but has a low clip size. So when it's out I can pull out the locus so I can still pull off head shots while doing good damage. I use it until I have enough ammo for my vindicator.

Went through a few missions with both Zaeed and Kasumi now. Between 2 flashbangs (shepard and kasumi) and conc blast (zaeed) things have trouble coming near us.. lol.

Something strange I'm noticing with the locust...it seems to snap freeze targets a bit more often than say...a typical SMG.(Using Cryo ammo)

Didn't see anyone reply to this...

Basically cryo is affected by rate of fire, so slow-firing weapons (sniper/shotgun/pistol) will freeze with 1 shot, ARs SMGs will take more. So as this SMG fires slower than the Tempest it'll freeze with less shots.

I just checked the wiki and according to that the Locust has a higher DPS against armor than the tempest which is awesome

i use the same system for my sentinel. liked the flashbang but when shep uses it you have to aim it like a regular grenade. for some reason i wasnt into that. i just stick to warp and guns and use kasumi for flashbang

I have to agree. It's too hard to aim the Flashbang Grenade when Shepard uses it. There's no way to tell where it's going to bounce, and I have to wait six seconds before I can try again. I can't count how many times I've tried to use the thing, only for it to explode harmlessly nowhere near any enemies. Also, while I understand the usefulness of Crowd Control, I prefer to simply kill things. I'm simple that way. Therefore, Shadow Strike > Flashbang.

Also, Shadow Strike apparently counts as a TECH power (meaning it benefits from all the tech damage/cooldown upgrades, not to mention Kasumi's passive)

The Flash Grenade, unfortunately, is a combat power, and thus only benefits from power bonuses to passives.
