No matter how many times I try, I cant manage to survive the bottom part. Its just an endless stream of monsters. Even on the the easy setting, I keep getting whiped. Any suggestions?

I go down the hill until a few of them come after the party, run back up the hill to where the knights and fire are and fight there. The knight and his forces never seem to die. Repeat until all the bad ones are dead and then go down to the town and kill the odd few that are wandering about.

Thats the problem, when I follow the guy into the town, theres a non stop flow of them.

You need to lure each wave up to the knights one at a time. After awhile they stop respawning, you then just need to kill the last wave to trigger the cutscene.

Im getting too swarmed, the knights die, then my party dies and I end up with 8 of em all attacking me. Ive tried it like 12 times now, always with same outcome : (

Well, when you go down, kill as much as you can while the militia is still alive, then, run up the hill to get the knights kill them, rinse and repeat, there is a lot of wave to this, so you will most likely go down and up a couple of times, then wander in the town to kill the ones that didn't came.
Key thing here: There is A LOT of them, that's why you have to go up to the knights, else they'll just overwhelm you

This sounds like good strategy. I'll give it a shot now.

This strategy works well. You must be patient to make it work though.
