Kaiden, Miranda, Grunt and Samara i didnt hate, i just found them a tad bit bland and uninteresting

I don't get why everyone dislikes Jacob. The dude is upfront and honest, 2 qualities that I find very valuable with my real life friends. I always felt that he would have my back.... if he could stay alive.

Jocob is too normal to put it plain. We have jack who is a psycho, kaiden was basically concripted into a biotics program, Miranda is an genertically enchanced, Garrus is an guy with a stick up his ass and now beats people to death with it. Legion is a geth who is now on our side who we know next to nothing about. We have Tali of course, who is an quarian. Grunt is tank bred who is only a few weeks old at best. Wrex was a vetern Krogan who used his set of brains and has far more ambitions then any other krogan other than okeer. We have thane who is an master assassin and who is dying. Kasumi is a master thief. Sheppard has killed more geth than anyone three people combined along with coming back from the dead. It is an freak show.

Hughes - "Taking shelter."
Mustang - "You could have backed us up or something!"
Hughes - "Lay off, don't go dragging a normal person like me into this freak show with you puesdo-humans!"

By far, he is an well written character, perhaps more well written than other characters in my opinon, but the only thing of interest is his loyality mission, that's about it. Though from what I heard about femshep LI, that probably took a heavy toll on his popularity.

In my opinion, I think Liara is the worst character in Mass Effect. I mean, I don't hate her, but I don't like her either. I just remember her boring the crap out of me in Mass Effect so I never had her in my party. Then I felt as if they tried to jazz her character background by adding her into Mass Effect 2 by making her some bad*** information broker - which, for me, didn't work. Her character is really, really boring to me. Sure, Udina is a royal pain in the rear, but at least I hate him, you know? Whereas Liara, I couldn't give a hoot either way.

I guess "too normal" may be a turn off for some.  With me, "too normal" makes him stand out even more amongst the band of misfits.  

I haven't done the LI yet with my femShep, but from what I hear, it does not sound too appealing.

Yeah. Liara was a bit of a snooze, but she still holds a place in my heart for being an Asari.  I love the makeover with her in ME2.  I really REALLY hope I get to find out what happens to her between ME & ME2 and how it will all develope later on into ME3.

I am still in my first playthrough right now.

Personally, I think Jacob sucks. I never include him in my team(except his loyalty mission). He seems a little unsure of himself, like he doesn't know if he's gay or straight. dunno. So does Kaidan. Glad I let him die on Virmire.



Oh yeah,and the council aliens and Udina. Ungrateful bastards. Aren't they supposed to be intelligent and insightful?

I dislike characters that don't fit their role. So I go with...

1) Miranda. She should be an absolute professional in everything she does and everything she says. The surprisingly good voice acting doesn't save her. And she is well out off proportion. I hate that.

2) Udina. Since when are angry kids chosen for top diplomats? Come on. Worst part: Lance Henriksen can do far better. This character is just not fitting.

3) Benezia. This one needs to be cold as ice. I would have liked to read the emotional stuff from her near monologues in a diary or so. This would have given her more depth.

4) Liara. I get it: She's a child. OK ... but ... she's standing on her own feet for years, has traveled more tha njust a few miles and got some pretty impressive degrees. Her childishness should play out more on her ideals not on her behavior.

5) Kirrahe. Shouldn't he read plans and radar readings or maybe meditating about "The art of war" or something? Just because Mordin made this up for me Kirrahe gets an honorable mention instead of winning the contest.

People complain about Jacob because their supposedly isn't enough depth to him, but does every character need to have some traumatizing back-story? For the most part he is a common soldier, and does his job.

I'm afraid I have to go with Kaidan, he doesn't come close to Carth from KOTOR, and seemed rather boring. Sometimes he made some amusing comments, but too often he was complaining about a headache or something.

Liara - Good idea having her role and personality progress during the story arcs; terribly executed with unappealing visuals and utterly bland VA.



Ashley - She's got a personality of a modern-day redneck hillbilly. They really should've given her a texan accent to top off the racist stereotype. But her most off-putting quality (or lack thereof) is actually that despite fighting alongside aliens and saving the galaxy in the process, she somehow managed to gained 0 character development and came out the exact same redneck racist hillbilly woman she was when we met her on Eden Prime. What gives?



Jacob - Well, people have said some nasty things about this guy. It's sad that virtually NOBODY ever likes this guy, and even sadder that most of those nasty things are true...

Lots of Miranda hate on this thread, but I think she's awesome. She's smart sexy and chooses you over the illusive man.

I don't think Ashley is a racist. She had every reason to be mistrustful of aliens after what happened to her grandfather and she thinks the terra firma party and cerberus are a bunch of xenophobic jackals.

Jacob, he is a good bro with no drama or emotional issues. Some might find that boring, but personally I think that's refreshing and something I look for in a real life friend.

My most annoying major character is Jack. I don't hate her, but I usually steer clear from drama queens and attention hogs.
