All the ME 1 characters with the exception of Ashley. I actively disliked her but was really impressed with how well she was written. The characters, including the returning ones, were much more interesting in ME2.

Now she's just that racist ****** that doesn't change her attitude much when turians, quarians, krogan and [sigh] asari prove their worth.

I would say that being able to make you hate a character is an accomplishment, but I doubt that's what they were going for. I didn't dislike Kaidan, but I also didn't care about him (or Liara).



In fact that's what I'm dreading most about Mass Effect 3. The possibility that they may scrap a great number of Mass Effect 2 characters (none of which I remotely disliked) to bring back Kaidan/Ashley and Liara, or add some other arbitrary characters (like Shiala) at the expense of other, better characters.

Agree with your dread SilasWolfe. Everyone in ME2 is loads more interesting that the ME1 crew. Even Garrus and Joker were upgraded.

I've done only 1 playthrough where I stuck with Ash as the LI. That's only so I can see what happens. Otherwise, any of the 3 chicks are far more interesting than Ash.

As femShep, though, Jacob is an absolute bore. His loyalty mission is cool but only because his dad is trying to be king of the island. Beyond that I really couldn't give a toss if he's upset with his dad's decisions. I don't use him as a squadmate beyond the professors recruitment. Finally, he only getst the convo-wheel so I can eek out a few more paragon/renegade points. Don't care about his answers and don't care for his always using his barrier when i'm trying to use his pull for a miri warpsplosion.

With Jacob out of the way, I would then get rid of Garrus. He's a turian shep. and there's only room for one on the boat. Plus he refuses to go use the med bay upgrade to fix his face. Shep's scars are cool, so he/she will never need to use the medbay, but c'mon, I bought it so Garrus should use it.

Finally, Samara/Morinth. Polar opposites with little to no room for a future story. One is stuck in the code the other stuck in pleasure kills. Neither seems to have any way out of their situation or desire to change. But, since BW nerfed my shep as a biotic god, either can stay to fill that roll since Miri and Jack are just too emotionally worked up in their own ways to be reliable in that role.

So much hate for Miranda. Most the reasons people have listed are the reasons I like her.

Anyways. Jacob. Not just because he's boring, but also because during certain parts he comes off as an ass. He accuses Thane of only living for a paycheck and then in a sneering voice reminds Tali to introduce herself to the ship AI.

I was pretty indifferent to Zaeed too. But that might be because of the lack of dialogue wheel.

Yes! I can't beleive I forgot about her. The only character I have instantly disliked, but because of this I can't say she's the worst. Similar to Jack - The character is good, I just happen not to like it. My Shepards rarely head down to lower engineering deck now. Worst for me would be a character that I hardly care for.

On that note:
Miranda - mainly because of her ridiculous outfit. The presentation together with camera angles that make me cringe are a huge turnoff. She just needs to wear something more modest. It's difficult to ignore her though, because from a role-playing perspective, Shepard owes Miranda his/her life.
Kelly - she could be a VI for all I care.

With everyone else I at least feel some emotion, whether like or dislike.

All this hate for Udina jeez. I actually started liking him after rushing through ME to bring up a character. He seems like a well thought out character, and is hardly cliche. Hes not tradtional if you really analyze him. He cares for himself and humanity as a whole, you just have to look for that. So its hard for me to hate the guy.

So who do I hate? Ashley is a rascist freak who thinks analogies make rascism alright. Kaidan is, well we know what would be said. Liara is outright annoying. Jacob is a guy to have a beer with, not one to save your tech expert, but all well BW.  Jack is a crazy psychopath extremist cliche whom I don't feel sympathy for.

As for who I hate, Ethan Jeong and the rest of Feros. Too coporate and cliche.

An impossible job that nobody had ever done before.  Oh and she woke you up and saved you when the droids went nuts at the beginning also.

But really every character who fights by your side is risking their life to help you out.  I have a hard time disliking any of them besides Morinth.

But it is no surprise that the 'worst character' in Mass Effect became the one you hate.  but we have our share of miserable haters on this board so that isn't too much of a surprise.

Jacob is such a bro. I never take him on the away missions and as near as I can tell he just sits around in the armory, but whenever we get a new team member he's right there in the briefing room saying something along the lines of "glad to have you on the team."

I'm here to see who all of you think is the worst ME charachter between both games. Doesn't matter if its a squad mate, enemy, or the consort. Just wanted to get everyones opinion.

Remember this is just opinions, if someone picks your fav charachter please don't try to start a thread war over it, BW isn't going to scrap them from the game because a few ppl didn't like them .

On the flip side of that if your one of those disturbed fans who hates a charachter so much u have wet dreams of killing him/her/it(alot of the LI's seem to attract this crowd), dont even bother posting on here because honestly your probably need to lay off the video games for a few months anyway.

My least fav ME charachter is definetly Liara.

I have tons of respect for what she goes through for Shep, but she was just always so pointless to me.
In ME 1 it seemed like she was only there to help further the plot and get a headache, than come part 2 she has inexplicably changed into a Mafia Don/"information broker" with an even more lifeless attitude than she had in pt 1

I realize she is a pretty popular charachter and probably not a smart one to bash when your opening your thread but as stated above this is just MY OPINION.  So yea if your a fan of her keep the pistol in its hoster =)

I liked Liara in the comics and in ME1 and ME2. The headaches are a bit annoying because her dialogue is exactly the same, every time she gets a headache.
'I didn't expect it to be so.. intense.'
'Maybe the Doctor should take a look at you.'
Etc.

That happened like three times to me in ME1. And romancing her is a bit too easy imo. I was being nice to her and suddenly Ashley and Liara forced me to choose :innocent:. Why? Can't I have two friends?

Oh and worst ME character... well I like all of them. But my least favorite character would be Kaidan. I just don't like him, the way he talks to you on Horizon and how he's wielding an assault rifle in that cutscene . And as a LI (for a female Shep) I prefer Garrus.

In terms of squad mates, I suppose my least favorite would be Morinth, even though I've never once had her as a squad mate. I wouldn't dream of offing Samara, especially not for Xenia Onatopp spray-painted blue. I like pretty much everyone other than that. As for supporting cast members, I recognize Udina as a necessary antagonistic force, so my least favorite would have to be Mikhailovich, since he's a speciesist jerk.

I cant remember that she was fighting at my side in the lazarus station...
It doesnt matter anyways.Wilsons betrayal was her mistake as a leader and she had to correct it.
And there are some good points that he was just a pawn used by the illusive man and miranda to test shepardts combat abilities.That would also explain why she killed him immediatly at the shuttle bay.

I would say the turian councillor, but he is the kinda character I love to hate. ME would not be the same without him.
