Grunt:
A Krogan that can't think for two seconds of anything else than to fight? Oh... give me Wrex back!
Zaeed:
I couldn't care less about a character. But i liked the paragon interrupt in his mission. Punching him is fun. ^^

Liara and Tali. The first one is too obsessive, the second one is totally annoying.

Tali is the worst. Boring in ME1... boring and annoying in ME2. With no face, I just can't relate.

Liara was my least favourite character in ME. She was rather wishy-washy and her eyebrows freaked me out a bit. Although I'm a straight female, I can appreciate a nice looking woman and relate to a male Shepard's desire for one, but Liara was the least sexy Asari in the entire game. And needy, too.

A lot of people seem to dislike Miranda but she does loosten up a bit and the rear view is exceptional. I don't dislike anyone in ME2 - there are just characters I love more than others.

So much hate for Miranda. Most the reasons people have listed are the reasons I like her.

Remember, she was written into the story such that people would hate her.   The fact that so many gamers still dislike her is a success for the writers. The fact that everyone is so love/hate with her... tells us her character was a success... because that is obviously what the writers were going for with Miranda.

Failures are with Jacob, as I think we were supposed to like him.

Grunt seems very one dimensional to me also.

I disagree. Miranda starts off as a very antagonistic and interesting character, but she quickly devolves into simple mediocrity. When you first talk her after meeting TIM she questions your abilities and talks about wanting to put a control chip in head. On Freedom's Progress, you could feel the pure disdain she has for you when you side with Tali. And when you board the Normandy...it all just disappears. She  suddenly becomes a perfectly friendly and boring member of your team. This is pretty much how my first talk with Miranda went on the Normandy

Me: Hey you want argue about how my Paragon mentality goes against everything you and your organization stands for?

Miranda: Nah. Want to hear how about how my father genetically engineered me to be perfect?

Me: I should go.

They took the one the one character trait that made Miranda interesting to me and stripped it away for some "I'm too perfect" wangst. Sure I hated Miranda with a passion, but not for the reason Bioware intended.

Kaidan.
About as stimulating in conversation as a damp piece of cloth.
Not that a damp piece of cloth cannot be put to good use, but I digress.

No, Kaidan is just a genuinely uninteresting, unengaging and thoroughly tiresome presence.
Or rather, he was.

well, i suppose in ME1 it has to be kaiden, simply because i never took to him. Ash i can get, even if she is a relegious alien hating freak.

in ME2 i'd have to say jacob, because he has the father angst like miranda, but not as nice an ass :)

In ME1 I thought I didn't like Ashley but she grew on me. I even felt bad for killing her everytime I played (no way is Kaidan getting left behind). I ended up really disliking Miranda for the same reasons everyone else is saying: she assumes she's second-in-command, she has the nerve to act like a baby after I side with Jack in their spat, and she has a bed in her office. wtf. Plus she never seems to appreciate anything I do, she just finds something else to nag about. I hope I'm not like that to my boyfriend.

If I had to pick a non-squad character, the award for most annoying goes to the racist volus in the vlous/elcor diplomat office in ME1.

Yes.If she really act like an "icequeen" i would have less problems with her.Instead she is like a dumb teenager.

In ME1, Kaidan never really interested me, so I wrote him out.
Plus, Ashley was more valuable to me, she suited my gameplay style.

In ME2, Jack and Zaeed.
Jack was likewise written out and I never added Zaeed.

Although Samara was useful at times, I don't find her as engaging as the other crewmembers.
But I didn't find her as distasteful as Jack, so I let her stay.

Mine is also Jacob. Doing my evil Shepard playthrough and talking with Jacob I so badly wanted to drop him then and there from his tough guy remarks...."****! I tell you when the conversation is over.!" AHH if only it was like Elder Scrolls you would be dead.

Miranda
:sick::sick::sick:

I get it BioWare. You really, really like her. She's the XO, Queen B!tch, intended LI for male Shep and all around wonderful and sexy babe. To emphasize all of these points you gave her a porn star physique and a tight in all the right places outfit. To make sure that we never get distracted or forget what a hot and sexy babe she is, you intentionally neglected to include a suit of space armor for her to wear. She gets featured in most of the cutscenes throughout the game. She has the best set of complimentary talents (overload, warp, squad bonuses) for the player to bring along on every mission. On the suicide mission, she has the most impenetrable set of plot armor that I've ever seen. She can be carried off by the swarm and reappear unscathed and ready for her next cutscene.
:pinched:<_<

Seriously Bioware, I mean really? This is not a serious character. It's so contrived and forced on the player that I grew to resent her mere presence almost immediately. Why would I, as a gamer, subject myself to a bunch of obnoxious and insulting dialogue for 2/3 of a game. I don't really care about any of the romance crap in the first place so I have no interest in the character. Fortunately, I can kill her off and won't have to put up with her sh!t in ME3.

From ME1: Liara and Ashley. Liara may have had potential, but she was written as THE alien space-babe cliché. "Ooo, Shepard, you're so fascinating, also, did I mention I'm a virgin?" It's especially bad during the romantic confrontation scene: if you do suggest a threesome, she doesn't bat an eyelid and reacts as if you'd chosen her. Apart from her almost instantaneous attraction to Shepard and her role as a "walking Asari encyclopaedia", she literally had NO conversation in her and not an ounce of humour. "I'm afraid I'm not very interesting". You got that right. And I don't care that she saved Shepard's life, that still doesn't make her any more interesting, even her "darker" ME2 side. That just creeps me out even more.

As for Ashley, well, somebody else already summed it up perfectly. "I can't tell the aliens from the animals". I'm sorry, what? I don't care that she supposedly changes her outlook later, but that line immediately killed any kind of sympathy I may have had for her. She made an explosive addition to the Virmire scenery on every one of my playthroughs. In a way, it actually complements her role in the story: the tragic sacrifice is a fitting conclusion to her "army reject" storyline.

From ME2: Jacob...Not only is his personality hopelessly bland, but he acts like a total jackass to Tali ("introduce yourself to the ship's AI"). I guess I can understand his misgivings about Thane, but that didn't help to make him any more likeable either. He also completely fails to grab my interest as a potential LI: I don't find him attractive (those lips seem to have a life of their own...), and his skin-tight uniform with the overly blatant codpiece disturbs me. Fail on all fronts.

Miranda's probably not a bad character objectively, since, as people have said before, she's meant to provoke strong reactions, but I really can't stand her attitude. Yes, her ass deserves an Oscar, and yes, she did bring Shepard back, but that's about it, and I'd really rather have not been indebted to her for that. I'm annoyed that the game tries so hard to shove her down your throat. I'd rather find ways to replace her skills than having to put up with bringing her along on missions. Also, "I'm so perfect, and it bums me out"? Boo-frickin'-hoo.

Grunt isn't much of a character at all, but at least he provides some entertainment: that's more than you can say for either of the above. And while Jack's attitude is well-nigh infuriating, I find her reasons easier to stomach than Miranda's. You really can't expect someone to be a functional person after being put through all the stuff she's been put through. I also find her face to be much more attractive than Miranda's, even with the shaved head.

ME: Liara (for being uninteresting), Ashley (for being a xenophobe)

ME2: Jack (yes, she's got survivor's guilt, but I don't like her that much), Zaeed (although his rough and brazen attitude is amusing at times, his backstory as one who serves only the highest bidder adds skepticism into his character)

Both: Udina (I have no interest in spineless, backstabbing politicians)...

In ME 1 i dislike Ashley the most, and i always leave her in Virmire. She is just way too annoying with the whole hate-alien thing plus as soon as you act friendly to her she inmediatly assumes you are in a relationship. I also don´t like his pink suit of armour and i prefer Kaidan over here (as a male shepard) because he feels more like a crewmate.

In ME2 i strongly dislike Jack, i think she is even worst than ashley. I understand all she had to go throuhght, but i just don´t have the patience to endure all his whines and insults, and generally the whole "the world hate me". I also dislike how she tells you to **** off after you rescue her and even blowing that cerberus base. Another one i dislike is Grunt, first he looks nothing like a krogan in my eyes (he is lacking the head crest, the most definiting trait imho) but more like a fat toad. He is also of a damn purple colour with bright eyes, plus his armour looks horrible, unlike Wrex in ME1. To top it off, his character is horrible and i hate how uninteresting he is. My most disliked part is when he shout "i am krogaan!". If Bioware created an alternative look for Grunt to look more like a true Krogan i might give him a chance, but currently i don´t like him much. The rest of characters i don´t have much agaisnt, but Zaeed and Jacob are a bit boring in my book.

Miranda - I was always waiting for a chance for a renegade slap, sadly that never came up, still I got use to her

Jack - She just pisses me off, but I'll admit her comments in battle are pretty funny

ME1: Liara and Garrus. Liara was way to into Shepard way too quicky. She's like a 22nd century stalker. Garrus was my second least favorite. Why? He had no backbone. What ever my Shepard thought he agreed to. I don't mind being able to change a characters out look but he was too quick to capitulate to my views.

ME2: I don't really dislike anyone. If I had to pick on it would be Morinth, but Samara made sure she'd no longer be a problem.
