I got the above graphics card in my PC, but when i try and play the game it doesnt work. any ideas?

Get a new card.  That one is based on a six year old core, the Radeon 9600 SE, which passed through a time as an X300 SE, then reverted back from PCIe to become AGP again.  It's old, it can only handle Dx9.0"a", not the minimum Dx9.0"b". 

Here's a Radeon HD 3650 that will work, for $65.  You have very few shopping options, since AGP is just not well covered any more:
