She gave me the key, it didn't work and told me this was a "known problem" and EA would email me when this issue is resolved. This is my first time attempting to get this dlc. Should I wait or just give up hope? Judging by the massive amount of posts about this dlc's issue I'm beginning to believe it's a lost cause.

I bought Mass Effect for PC today (own 1 and 2 on 360, and felt like a newish ME experience). Went to EA Live Chat, requested a BDTS key, and got one. Worked fine. Bring Down the Sky is now installed.

you can only keep trying the ea support and hopefully you finally end up with someone who actually helps . it took me 4 goes over two weeks to finally get the game to install. patience and perserverence

Hello everyone my first ever post. I seldom give up on things in life however, when the website link is down and in addition, when i spoke to ea customer/ tech support by phone and email, they did try to issue me a fresh registration key. Alarmingly and freakishly, when i contacted them a few months ago now at the time, they revealed to me my legitimate serial no with my own licensed copy of mass effect one that i got 2 years ago from the time i contacted them 'disappeared off my database'. And given the revival of the Bring Down the Sky problem i should make clear that i spoke to a top level 'tier 3' agent who coordinates meetings with ea and associated Bioware developers. They revealed to me what many of you suspect when you try to access the old website you are transferred to the latest mass effect revamped website. In addition, it was revealed to me what some of you may? not have known by this top level agent at EA Los Angeles HQ- that EA expanded in their responsibilities and consequently took over more aspects of the website rights- in doing this EA revamped the brand and consequently the website was new in the lead up to the release of Mass Effect 2, Pinnacle Station was the first dlc to be used for mass effect 1 on the revamped ea download manager- incidentally prior to pinnacle station's dlc release, it was revealed to me that coinciding and prior to ea aquiring greater rights of control of managing the website infrastructure of the mass effect series, that the link and the method for download of me1's first dlc of Bring Down the Sky operated under the then original website.

Hence, upon the release of Pinnacle Station DLC, Ea had greater control and authority over web site creation and management for the product and Bioware focused more intensely on game developing as they relinquished control of wbesite management under a deal with EA.

So as Pinnacle station was released, the old website link to succesfully re obtain the ky code and serial for our legit mass effect bring down the sky cd key, especially in the recent year or so has become null and avoid.

The EA agent told me it was a 'reoccuring headache that they are determined to resolve' but are preoccupied (rightfully given how great this trilogy will be on' bedding down the current website and associated mass effect 3 associated links and infrastructure to expand the current mass effect 2 website' then he assured me they would then revive the link to the currently dead end website that once allowed us a year or so ago to reactivate and access our Bring down the Sky cd key and hence successfully install.

The bottom line is that Ea pointed out its a huge operation and they need to transfer and redeem all the old website data for me1- i accepted that.

What you said gethsome is true- indeed we must be patient however what some of you need to understand and sadly accept is that it is out of our control.

I took note that one of your members 2 years ago concieved a once effective solution but unfortunately until he updates it and more improtantly until EA restore the link so it directs to the oriignal site or moreover as they told me it is intended they will integrate the old website in the pre- ea rights aquirement period into the new more dominant and current mass effect 2 and 3 website that is why it will take a long time.

As helpful as that link was 2 years ago unfortunately it needs to be accepted its beyond our control and cracked keys dont work either we need access to our own pre registered BDTS cd key- so ultimately until ea resolve this increasingly big provblemfor both bioware and ea, and especially their customers- us, it doesn't matter how ingenious that 2 year old guide and program to get it working is now, it is useless if the weblink does not direct us to redeem our original cd key. Suffice to say when ea issued me with a few different keys it didn't work.

And i should caution that it is further problematic that my serial no did not 'exist' anylonger and as was revealed it was because our serial key registration records were associated and stored under the old infrastructure before ea expanded control of development management and the like with tech support department.

So take note not only is the link malfunctioning till ea notify us otherwise to obtain bdts serial key, but in addition there is a risk a lot of your one legitimate original cd key for your mass effect game itself sure it will reinstall and run properly without bdts, however, if it not appearing on ea's records that means they are lost in the old infrastructure and without ea atm beign to access there records of each customers fully licenses mass effect1 product, there is no way they can help us to reobtain or give us a compatible bdts cd key that will identify our product.

For those who us who want to finetune and adjust our mass effect 1 characters that we imported in mass effect 2 and subserquently wish to import in mass effect 3 and go back the ability to do so is in limbo as far as any readjustment to your characxetrs choices in bdts is concerned and i did rightfully point out to the top tier management ea agent that 'a lot of harcore mass efffect fans would love to tinker with their choices if they are not happy with their individual character chouices by the time mass effect 3 comes out. can't wait.

So my advice? simply hope like me you have a contingency until the matter is resolved at ea and bioware's end- that you already completed mass effect 1 with as many different chatacetrs and as many different options for the bdts paragon/ renengade path so that you already have a successful history of the choices your imported me2 chatacters from me1 had in the original mass effect with bring down the sky. Fortunately i have 8/10 each one wtih all the different paragon/ renegade options combinations for bdts unfortunaately the last 2 chatacetrs when i had to reinstall masss effect 1 had to play through without it still fun esp as their were other choices i didn't explore in the non dlc parts of the game that i thought i did.!

I stumbled on this thread tonight as I was reinstalling from an HDD crash. Same problem as everyone else. I contact live support and they provided me with a link (which I already had the software but it was still good), and a code. All less than 5 min's.

I got Pinnacle Station direct from EA, and it's d/ling now so hopefully that goes smooth.

Just contact support they should help. And this time, do what I did... keep the key written down :-)

So far I have talked to 3 agents: Lenita, Drew and Mario. Lenita and Drew told me flat-out that the CD Key is no longer available due to contract issues between EA and Bioware. They were both very nice, but could not solve the problem. Mario promptly gave me a CD Key, but the key is invalid and does not work.

So I guess I'll keep trying. It sounds like some people get lucky and find the right agent who knows how to find CD Keys for Bring Down the Sky, and other agents do not know what they are doing for this issue. If possible, if anybody else gets this working could you please post the name of the agent who made it happen for you, cause that's the person I want to talk to.

When you do finally get the key, write it down somewhere and stick it in the case with the CD, email it to yourself, whatever.
If you havent been through the 615th layer of hell which is EA support, then you should have heard about it by now, and know you dont want to suffer it for yourself.

Like Hellfire I wasn't able to log into my EA account despite the password being correct, and I also couldn't change it as the reset emails never reached my inbox. I just made another account and contacted EA support through their live chat thing and got a working key pretty much instantly. BDtS is now installed.

If you don't get the key straight away I really would reccommend you keep trying as some advisors are still giving out working keys, and you just have to be lucky to get one of them.

What was the name of the agent that helped you?  I'm through 8 agents and no workable key yet.

To find the name of the agent go to your "Search Help" page on your EA Account.  Then click on the "My Questions" link.  On the right there will be a list of all calls received by EA (it's part of their job to make an incident report).  Click on the report that was successful and read it.  At the bottom of their report will be the agents name.

I just found out a second advisor contacted me after the first. I have absolutely no idea why as far as I was concerned the issue was resolved, but despite me being AFK and not responding to her messages she gave me a second key. Jime you can have it if you like. You have first dibs anyway. Is there a way for me to PM you so someone else doesn't take it first?

You might want to edit your post so that your email isnt in it. There are these horrible automated things called "page scrapers" which go along and browse pages in the internet, just looking for email addresses that they can add to their spam servers.

So, some people are being given working keys and others aren't??? I called two weeks ago, the employee said he'd get me a key, and after all that time I finally called back. The second employee told me that the first was mistaken and that there were no keys avaliable... and there wouldn't be any in the foreseeable future.... He actually offered me another DLC in recompense... but all I want is my Bring Down the Sky back!!!

Maybe its related to restrictions within a certain country/region or something? People having difficulty getting a key where are you from?

Of course on the other hand it could just be EA support is a complete mess. Ha.

I was thinking the same thing about country/region limitations. I know that every time i get support it is from the EA HQ in Redwood City because the number that calls me is a (650) area code. Or maybe they are in Redwood Shores...I forget. I am wondering if you are, say, a European customer and you get suppoet from wherever you call to in Europe then you get a different branch of EA who is able to provide working keys.

visionazzery, are you referring to the guide and program I wrote? They can still be used and if you don't have a key you can, sometimes, work with EA Support to get a key and then follow said guide if you continue to have problems. Start at http://support.ea.com/ and you will need to login.

FML!!! i got the cd key from ea live....buuuuuut the key didnt work..i got this msg saying 'The game can not start! For security reasons, only a limited number of machines can ever be licensed by a single purchase. This limit has been reached. Please purchase another registration code, reinstall, and then try again.'

well this yet didnt strike my hopes down...i went to live ea again and got new code from another agent...i got the same fkin msg again w the new code!!!i think i just go burn my pc outside on the yard! >.<

In this instance, it has nothing to do with the BDtS code, but the ME1 SecureROM DRM which limits the number of installations to 3. Let EA supoprt know that you have reached your install linmit, and they will remove it.

Does anyone know something I could still do to get my hands on a bdts key? Or has anyone still got a key that will work?

I'm not sure if you're still hunting a code but I've literally just got off EA's Live Chat after they gave me a working code for BDtS. You should contact them again as it seems they have more codes now.
