I am not knocking people who played the game on easy, I am one of them, which is why I am LMAO.
First off if people were having trouble on easy, seriously What the hell were you doing.
I played on easy, and had a grand total of ONE wipe (and that was because I forgot to call for help at Fort Drakon).
For the High Dragon Alistair and Leilana died real quick so it was just me An archer based Ranger, my Spider, and Wynne. I had my freaking Spider TANK the high dragon, which was not supposed to happen. I never fell below 75 percent health against the High Dragon.
It was the same thing for the Arch Demon, but instead of Leiliana dying, she bugged out and couldn't move or attack, and I never fell below 95 percent health (and I had no dragon scale armor on I had Ancient Elven armor with no resists)
To me I thought Easy was WAYYYYYYY to easy. If anything they should of made it more difficult.
Overall the game was great though except a couple of bugs.
But seriously people did we really need to make easy EASIER.
I laughed when I saw the Patch Made Easy EASIER!!!! Are you serious

Ahhh, they made normal difficulty easier too. Normal was getting WAY too easy for me, so I can't beleive they dumb it down just days after release, when so many complaints are really just solved with "Learn to play".

Without wanting to bait the troll too much, if you found it so damn easy why did you not play on normal or hard?

Not all people are used to playing this style of game. I like playing it on easy, myself, because I don't feel afraid of exploring my options. I let my sister (who only plays console games) play for a bit and she got frustrated very fast.. can only imagine the headache if it had been harder! So seriously.. you shouldn't bash people for choosing the easy option. Go play it on hard if you find it so easy. Not everyone is like you.. Some people like Easy to be... Easy.

I may actually wait to get the patch then, as I haven't noticed any major bugs in my game. I like the challenge.

No offence intended, but I'm really surprised with how many people actually CARE that they made easy easier. Fact is, there are some major difficulty spikes in the game & I'm sure that even on easy, those times were somewhat difficult to people who are not used to a game like DA:O.
End of the day, what difference does it make to you? The people who choose to play easy are doing so on purpose & it should be VERY easy *because it's the easiest setting*. If you found easy too easy already, you should be playing a higher difficulty level.
I play on normal & it still has some rather difficult areas. Once or twice I've gotten to a point that the difficulty spiked so much that it was completely frustrating trying to get through the battle after being wiped several time, so I dropped to easy just to move forward in the game & then put it back to normal. The point of an easy setting is for it to be easy...

I thought they should create another difficulty level call that normal, then change the present normal to something called challenging.
I think the main issue is people are used to normal being, well fairly easy (just not ridiculously easy).

I always play everygame on easy because I find that the most effiencient way to experience the LORE.
But I have never in my life experience and easy mode where I only died once in the 40 hours it took me to beat the game. I have no idea how people are having a difficult time with easy enough to make it even easier.
I am going to play my next playthrough on normal, and see if it is as difficult are making it out to be.

Surely you never died if you played Kotor on easy. That game was easy on normal (aside from the final battle)

I actually never played KOTOR on normal. One of the only RPG's I never played on easy. And I agree, about how easy normal was.

i dont see how this change can affect anyone, for those who likes a challenge, hard / nightmare mode is still the same, just because some ppl like to play on easier difficulty for what ever reason is nothing for you to judge at.

It seems understandable to me. Maybe some people just simply play for the enjoyment and story and all that goes with it. Maybe difficult gameplay isn't what draws them to gaming. I am sometimes one of these people. Perhaps one playthrough I'll go with hard, and another, well, this "super easy" difficultity sounds pretty good to me. Perhaps to see how a situation could have gone differently etc.

I had plenty of difficulty on easy at first, though I'm getting better. I think getting Wynne and finally getting strong enough for the Blood Dragon Armor helped a lot.
Going through the Fade all alone as a warrior was particularly brutal. I was saving every 5 steps because there are a ton of mages around that stack a few spells that incapacitate and kill you in seconds. There were just regular rooms of enemies that I had to retry multiple times.

Are you kidding me ? couldn't they just make a new difficulty called "easiest" or something. I don't see the point of changing already set difficulties, if people find it too hard they just ahve to lower the difficulty and if the lowest is too difficult than just make an even easier mode, why ruin the experience for everyone just cause some people don't want to lower their difficulty settings.
While I am asking bioware for a "hell" difficulty because I found my nightmare playtrough too easy some people think easy is too hard ? That's ridiculous.
And to the guy above me, I did it as a warior, start by going counter-clockwise to get the anti-mage form first.

Tbh some players just like to play the game to see the story unfold. This game has a awesome story and if u can't wait to see the next "chapter" then play it on easy.
If u want challange, go hard or nightmare.

1.) I don't care for difficulty. I always play on easy, at least on the first play-through. Like Dragonlanxe above me said, I just want to enjoy the story.
2.) "Easy" is actually pretty challenging to me, in a good way. It's exactly right for my play-style.

For all the "badasses," if normal is too easy for you now, be a man and just do nightmare so we don't have to hear you complain.

How was easy challenging for people. Seriously has a Ranger who has kinda subpar ranged damage I should have died more than once. But I did happen to only die once (and I am not just talking about a wipe, I am talking about my character only died once). To me easy was Beyond easy.
I am running through Normal now (rolled a mage) and people said they had a problem with the Orge in the tower on Normal and I still brought him down in about 30 seconds. Seriously, why are people having trouble??
