So my NG+ Insanity Adept has been my easiest playthrough ever....until Horizon.

I was doing fine until I entered the final fight.

So I am at the two scion and husk rush. And I can't seem to position myself well enough to take care of the opposition.

I initially took the little area with the medigel and the husks got my squadmates and cornered me. The other time I held the line at the front, but the cover is so minimal I did worse.

The only problem, really, is that Scions take forever to kill. I do have the Biotic damage bonus from the Firewalker DLC but I can't take the armor off either the husks or Scions fast enough to establish a better position.

I can't seem to buy myself enough time to set up.

I know Horizon questions are asked often and I have seen plenty of videos. But for those of you who have done this on NG+ Insanity I would appreciate any advice.

My build:
Heavy Warp - 4
Throw - 1
Wide Singularity - 4
Pull Field - 4
Shockwave - 0
Nemesis - 4
Heavy Warp Ammo - 4
Using: Vindicator Assault Rifle, Tempest, Carnifex, Avalanche

My squad:
Miranda:
Unstable Warp - 4
Area Overload - 4
Cerberus Tactician (I think. It's the one with the higher weapon damage) - 4

Grunt:
Concussive Shot - 2
Incendiary Ammo - 3
Krogan Pureblood - 4

Lose Grunt, take Mordin with area incinerate. That + your singularity and throw really cleans up the husks nicely. His incinerate really helps with the Scion's and Harbringer's armor. If you need to slow a scion down, keep spamming your singularity and it will slow it down for a few sec's and cast Miranda's warp and mordin's incinerate on it while you shoot your pistol during your cooldown. You have a good build, but I usually take a point in barrier rather than warp ammo. One point is good enough, if you get caught with a scion shockwave or a preatorian blast, you can regain your shields in a pinch. Don't worry about the cooldown. By the time you gain the position you want, you're usually cooled down anyway.

I feel like I need Grunt to tank for me. The area incinerate is really weak right now because I only have one tech damage upgrade. Grunt just doesn't die and I need that right now.

Trust me, you don't need a tank on this mission. The incinerate is strong enough to strip the armor off husks in one shot. Without the husks getting in the way, you can circle the area at will, especially if you have a point in barrier in case you get caught in the open to recharge your shields in an instant. Mordin's cryo freeze also is also devastating when combined with your heavy throw.

Heavy Singularity stops Harbringer from moving so I would consider re specing there.

So does wide. You get a second extra stoppage with the heavy, but in my experience with an NG+ adept insanity run, it's the husks that cause the most problems on that mission. Wide seems to stop a group of them better for me.

Oh ok, I guess we just have different play styles then .. I'm sure the OP can finish Horizon theres a lot of trial and error.

This isn't true. It always was when I played it on NG Insanity but on NG+ they take two shots.

Weird. I guess maybe it's the two upgrades I had that made the difference. Was always one shot for me.

Both pull field and singularity instakill unprotected husks. But pull has 1/2 the cooldown, so know which one to use in which situation.

I did it on NG+ so it is possible. I think my team was Miranda and Jacob so it should be doable with Miranda and Grunt. I did spend most of my time setup at the medkit you described so it should be doable from there. Each squadmate took cover at each of the stairs.

And remember that Scions are stopped from firing by singularity.

Actually, how about trying this:

Place squadmates in the truck on the left as you enter the zone, then dash over to the platform with the medikit.

You'll be the target of everything for some time, giving you some time to fight a running battle if you need to.

Also, did you get mordin's +20% tech damage boost? Not sure how much that helps, but ...

there is a cheap way of crippling one of the scions. Before you enter the area, if you look closely, you'll see the butt of one of the scions sticking out of the computer terminal where you reprogram the guns. You can unload your ammo on it, You probably won't kill it without a sniper rifle, but you can get it down to half health. There should be a few clips on the ground to pick up as you make your way to the balcony. Just concentrate on the one scion you damaged and then the area is a lot easier when you only have to deal with one other scion.

I'm sure FoFoZem knows about cheese-killing the scion.

You don't need to shoot it, by the way ... you can hit it with powers.

On Horizon, I take Miranda and Zaeed. But, I make sure I do Zaeed's Loyality mission first. His infernal Grenade is very useful.

Yeah. That's not a bad idea. I didn't really think about giving the enemy multiple targets on Horizon. I think I'll try that.

I forgot to ask Mordin about his upgrades so I totally spaced the omni-tool.

New Game Plus. Starting a new ME2 career with a character that has already completed it

new game.

NG = just a new game or ME1 import.

NG+ = importing ME2 character. It's a commonly used term in games that allow replaying with the same character.

Mordins special omni tool ads 20 percent tech damage when he make a attack.Dont forget that.

This is a good battle.

I've done it with grunts squad fire ammo and miranda
Jacob is also doable with squad fire and his pull field - probably preferred option for husk insta-killing.

On entry I position miranda behind the cover by the building on the right and jacob by the tyres on the left.
I take cover on the right side of the square platform on the right.
From there I use the assault rifle to strip the armour off the lead husk and position a singularity on their approach to me.
Strip each of their armour and let them run into the singularity or pull any stragglers.

At this point jacob is prbably taking damage and you may have a husk starting to hit you.
Ass. rifle and pull yourself free.

reposition jacob - I dont care if he lives or dies at this point as he's done his job to prevent me getting rushed from both sides.

Repeat the defensive singularity and armour stripping with pulling stray husks.

Miranda is usually dead from the scion which are on top of you by now.

I run to the left side and then down the map.
The husks pour out from that side.
sprint away from cover to cover stripping armour, placing tactical singularities and using lots of fast pulls.

Once the husks are done its easy to move from cover to cover around the map taking out the husks. At this point your squad auto-revives.

Remember if you place a singularity too close to yourself or you walk into it it will just collapse.

Good luck!

P.S.
completely doable with just pistol and ass. rifle (and tempest for praetors barriers)
