shouldn't he be a Berserker or a badass Reaver?? he is the ONLY character that only gets one specialization. what's up with that

I always make him a champion ASAP. He just seems to fit that role nicely in my mind.

I made him a berserker, he's a beast already so I figured he might as well have the brute force that goes with it.

I think reaver suits Sten best, actually. Playing with death and frightening the hell out of your opponents - so him.

But yeah, I'm not exactly sure what's the reason to give him just one spec point.

I Reaver Sten too, for the scaring and the physical resistance bonus

I keep toying with the idea of trying to skip as much as possible until Lothering to see if i can get there with my PC not yet at lvl 6. I have no idea if it is actually possible of course but i sort of assume that if you were only lvl 5, Sten would be lvl 6 and then the next time you got to level him up you'd get to pick a specialization early as well as at lvl 14. But as i say - i don't know if it is even possible...
