Yes. Beyond that...who knows?

Edit: If you are looking for speculation. Perhaps the Alliance is keeping evidence of the reapers existence from the Council (though I'm not sure why they would do that). They were the first ones on the citadel after sovereign's attack, they could have organized a cover-up. It would also help explain why the Council still doesn't belive Shepard about the Reapers.

My theory related back to the Revelation novel. The Alliance had been experimenting with AI, which we know the council disapproves of. The Geth had cost the Quarians their embassy on the Citadel. Were the Council to find out about the Alliance tests in the past, humanity could very well lose its new place on the Council. Or if you killed the original Council and replaced it with an all human Council, any alien that found this information could use it to overthrow the new human-based Council. Just a theory that made sense to me.
Kind of wish Bioware had revealed the secret in the mission, or if there had been a later point in the game where you could find out. And because Kasumi is a DLC character I don't even know if Bioware would ever expand her character through future DLC in Mass Effect 2. Doing so would require people to have purchased this Kasumi DLC to purchase her expansion. If they can do it, they definitely should. Great DLC Bioware! Hope you're reading.  Kasumi should be a canon squadmate.

you can't post pics from your hard drive. You need to upload it to flikr or photobucket or a similar service and get a http:// link. then put that between the formatting

The Grey box showed something abou the reapers if you remembered the scene. I have a feeling it shows something to do with the council races and something humanity did to them. Remember Keiji said It something we did and who ever new about it would be in great danger. After seeing the reaper in his memory I'm wondering it that had something to do with it.

It WAS the one in front, right? The rest all appeared to be about Kasumi and Keiji.

In any case, whatever the information may turn out to be, I had Kasumi destroy it in my final replay of that cutscene. I've worked too hard to have all I did in Mass 1 go to waste.

The Alliance could have got more debris pieces of Sovererign than they officially stated, which means they could have made research or experiements during Shepards "absence"

Cereberus was part of the alliance once, maybe they're still connected somehow to a small secret part of it?

Or maybe they're creating a weapon for the reapers because they do believe shepard, but are keeping it a secret so they don't have to cut through red tape. Citadel store info, reapers get that info, secret weapon is out, lost advantage. Don't tell council, and reapers might not find out through hacking or getting to citadel.

I kept it, well Kasumi kept it, mainly because I don't want to miss out on a mission, if there is one, in me3 when you find out more. I was torn between saving it and destroying it. One hand you want Kasumi to be able to move so you destroy the box for her, on the other hand, people grieve in their own way and you don't want to force them to move on when they're not ready.

I don't think it involved Cerberus because Keiji Talked more about the council. Now it could be something the alliance did with cerberus which you might be right, but I have a feeling its more do to with the alliance in general and a whole then the involvement of cerberus.

As another non-native speaker, I can only recommend playing games/watching films without subtitles as soon as possible. With subtitles, you tend to read them and gloss over the actual speech - that's a bit counter-productive for learning English, even if it's easier in the short run.

Of course, I say that because I actively wanted to develop my listening comprehension skills back then (living in England for the past four years or so now, so it helped... I think)

Or, you could leave subtitles on if you've played the game before and have your own music running in the background.
