And I wouldn't doubt that some of the Admirals and higher ups at the Alliance would know of the connection, Kahoku didn't and this put him in an impossible situation.

But again I'll point out Cerberus forced his hand, they deliberately lured and murdered his men.
Kohaku couldn't let it go and tried to bring them to justice. Hell if the CIA went around murdering U.S. marines I can only hope there'd be hell to pay.

While true, the Alliance could buy the info as well. Obviously, SB would tell the Alliance that it has the info and if it wanted it back they would have to pay. Basic business sense.

EDIT:  CIA/Military tests often fatal on subjects many years ago only brought to light in increments.  Public apology, nothing more, unfortunately...

He was a traitor, this put him in a position that made his death necessary.  His intentions were honorable but his actions were his downfall.  Cerberus actions put him in that position, but his invistigation led him to be a traitor.  Did he deserve to die because of his actions?  Not necessarily.  But did he force the hands of those who knew more?  Yes
