It kinda makes sense.  Liara is an inforamtion broker with a very good repuatation, so of course someone like Kasumi would have either worker with Liara herself or some of those in her employ.

Ash and Kaidan though, are both Alliance regualrs, and move in entirely different circles.  Kaiden's a biotic and an officer, Ash is an oldschool, dyed in the wool ass-kicking ground pounder.

The only way Kasumi would have met any of them is if she somehow ends up getting stuck in an active warzone, or running afoul of them while hitting a military base.  And I get the feeling that infiltrating and stealing from the Alliance Marine Corps or Navy is something Kasumi wouldn't do.

Corporate espionage and robbery is one thing.  But going up against the kind of resources a government-backed military establishment can bring to bear is something else entirely.  Pissing off some merc organization probably wouldn't even make Kasumi blink.  Getting whole N7 (or worse, Spectre) squads and whatever other kind of covert ops troops tasked with tracking her down would probably drive her to find someplace very dark, quiet and removed from civilization to hide.

Engage in a bit of espionage on the Alliance?  Sure.  It's quick, quiet and has little chance of someone of her skill being discovered.  In such setting, she'd hear very little, if anything about Ash and/or Kaiden outside of low-level clearence and whats already known in the media.

Not really. Even if it were intentional, I don't think Kasumi's personality would gel with the other two FemShep romances. She doesn't strike me as a person who would be too caught up in fighting for ideals [like Garrus] or introspection [like Thane]. Kasumi's a woman of action, adventure and the present (mostly). So Jacob seems like the best candidate, given her interests, and the least likely of the three to drag a relationship down with personal baggage.

Oh, wait, THERE are the Kaiden/Ashley conversation lines!  Tucked in the bottom of the file right there.  Damn, how'd I miss that?

...

No, not really.  I'm still just amazed that what started as me just being bored and typing these lines out has turned into something so huge.

Hey, there's a line hidden in there where FemShep refers to herself by the male Gunn alias.  That's pretty weird, huh, guys?  Isn't that weird?

Ummm, maybe I'm being thick here...but she could potentially meet them on Horizon if you take her along, right?.  That could at least warrant a "Why was Kaiden/Ashley acting so ****y towards you, Shepard?"

No, since all or most of her dialogue was probably recorded before ME2 was even released.

Yeah, I've been meaning to say, I seriously doubt that any of Kasumi's lines are references to fan reactions since ME2 has been released.  I mean, it's possible they might have brought the VA in for additional lines after the fact, but I doubt they'd want to pay her salary just to throw the fans a shout-out.

To give you guys an idea: any line of Kasumi's that isn't A) her combat dialogue, B) from her loyalty mission, or C) her talking on the ship, was ALREADY in the game when it was released.  So chances are pretty good the dialogue in the DLC pack was probably recorded around the same time.

Well. "Meh" to the Kasumi dialogue - that does seem rather catastrophically unfair that she mentions everyone including Liara but no Ashley or Kaidan. At this stage we would probably have been happy even with something generic and equally applicable like "Sorry that your Alliance friend seemed so angry with you. I guessed from that hug that you used to be close." after Horizon.

I know some people get upset when Kaiden/Ashley fans express their discomfort.

But realize that after ME2, there is some suspicion if Bioware will actually deliver on the "they will have major content in ME3" promise. Hence when DLC like this rolls around, where everyone but them are mentioned, people tend to get ...well worried. I mean- Kasumi is getting enthusiastic about an Jacob- a guy who is an awesome buddy but perhaps one of the least popular (and creepiest) romances. It is difficult to tell what Bioware is even thinking anymore.

It can all be smoothed over with developers are open with us and tell us not to expect ME1 LI related dlc. Most normal fans can deal with it. Sure there are some heated sorts who will crib about that, but to assume all your fans will not respect your decisions if you are upfront with them is unfair.

Otherwise, yes- each time Biowarian says something generic like "wimmins will love this" or "Kasumi comments on all your LIs" etc, people start thinking that comment applies to them.

It is an easily avoidable problem for a large part.

Yes, she says:  "Liara T'Soni's got quite a reputation.  I've done business with her people before.  I hear you and she were an item before.

To me, this means she knew about Liara before joining up with Shepard and that may well also be why she knows about their relationship, if it existed in someone's game. Meanwhile, the most she can know about Ashley/Kaidan is what happens on Horizon, and that's not exactly amicable. So it makes a certain amount of sense.

The only point that could be made is that given her... erm, pronounced interest in Normandy gossip, she would've picked up on the fact that there's a bit more than the usual tension between former coworkers between Shepard and the Virmire survivor and tried to find out what that was all about. But other than that, it actually makes a certain amount of sense, and given that the Ashley/Kaidan romance subplot is otherwise clearly referenced, I wouldn't read too much into two non-existent lines of dialogue from a DLC character.

Critical thinking says that Kasumi knows things that are extremely intimate -- Tali taking her mask off for you, for instance, or secret -- Morinth being on the ship, or completely random -- some girl being pregnant, Rupert getting new supplies, you drinking with Chakwas -- but she doesn't know a simple fact that Joker and Kelly know about.  Combine that with the simple thought that she can BE on Horizon, and SEE your interaction with Ashley or Kaidan.  But that's apparently too logical for some people, they NEED to complain about other people complaining, especially when it's something that means nothing to them.

God forbid Tali hadn't gotten a mention.  Or any one of the other LIs.  But the people whining about Ashley/Kaidan fans would be whining about them too.  Because you're whiners.

Yeah I love how people will accept that Kasumi knows the intimate details of everyone and everything, she knows about Morinth, but she can't know about Ashley or Kaidan even if they were Shepard's lovers.

So apparently Kelly has a better information network than the master thief. Right. Sure.

Yep, you would think that the Master Thief who just lost someone very close to her, would maybe have said something about Kaidan/Ash,, especially if she was standing mere feet away from you when you had your little reunion on Horizon.

And yes, I took her with me to a quick Horizon last night - just in case she actually said something and needed some sort of trigger.

Also, with her master sneaking, I am certain Miranda and Kelly are not the only ones who snoop through your mail.

I'd also like to point out that us whiny Ash/Kaidan fans have little to work with after ME1. Our LIs have the smallest part in the game (in comparison to all the other LIs). We only have the words from before ME2's release to go on that "they will have a major role in ME3". I think most of us would be happy to have some kind of acknowledgement from BW in some way that this is still the case. Being the only LI left out of a DLC's easter egg (which the romance dialogues are pretty much that) stings just a bit and puts more doubts in our minds.
