I have had dragon age origins ever since it was released and i have always had choppy framerates but i could never find any solutions for the problem so now I desided to go to the foums for help.

The frame rate can be realy good at times 120+ fps but in some areas it can drop to 15fps and in denrim the frame rate is 40 and it feels realy slow. I have seen videos on youtube of somone with the same setup as me and his frame rate is the same but i just dont understand how a game that looks just better than counter strike can have such bad framerates the only thing i can think of is that the game is very poorly optimzed i love the game it's amaizing but the frame rate is anoying.

All my drivers are up to date. I have uninstalled my gpu drivers and used driver sweaper i have reinstalled windows 7
but still no luck it only happens in dragon age all other game like example metro 2033 maxed 80+fps constant.

1. You couldn't just have bumped this one instead of creating a duplicate? 

2.  If your typing and / or spelling is as questionble as the above example, why not switch to Firefox and take advantage of the builtin spell-checker?

Anyways, Your first issue is going to be your 64 bit OS, DAO doesn't support 64 bit.

Also which patch are using? And have you tryed others?

Also make sure nothing is overheating while playing.

Besides that I am not certain.  You are well over system requirments.

So i take it u have had a look at my 1st post but instead of helping u wait 4 days then I repost the same message before I even get a response but when i finally do get a responce i get a short manual on how to use firefox now my game is running at 200 fps thnx for ur help. I mean come on did any part of my post mention anything u have said. I have seen you on nearly everypost i have been on. It's like u went for a job at bioware but they refused u so u just spend your days scavenging throu the forums hoping that one day one of the staff will see u and sweeppee!!!! you
off your feet!!! lol:)

anyway my game is on steam and it is version 1.3  I have tryed patch 1.2 and 1.1 but no dice

my gpu  temp stays at around 50 which is lower than normal for 4870 X2 coz i got so many fans and my cpu max load is around 55 in other words no temp props lol

Have you tryed using windows 7 32 bit?  I thought windows 7 comes with 32 and 64 bit.  

You would only lose it picking up .5 gb of ram.  I have no issues with vista 32 with 3.5 gb only be picked up.  At 3.5gb ram games never use it all it seems.

do u have any other ideas as i dont want to have to resistall my os again?
coz games like stalker hate 32 bit

one other thing changing the graphic setting from 8xaa to no aa and all graphics setting to low makes a difference of like 10 fps?? wtf hardly increase in peformance

Well in this game with higer performance hardware your going to see a big change. 8xaa of the lower textures of this game might not equal to no aa of a texture in a more advanced vividly graphic game.

Denerim is one of the most demanding sections of the game, so it's possible that many computers drop frames there, even high-end ones. It could also be the CrossfireX configuration that's causing issues for you. The way v-sync is implemented in Dragon Age can also cause framerates to decrease, so see if you get any improvements by switching it off.

omg i fixed it i uses cff explorer to make the game use 4gb of ram

and added -Dx9 to its target in short cut and changed compatibility to windows xp service pack 3 and now fps never goes below 69 even in denrim

it was cozed by me using 64 bit os levi was right !!!!!!!!!!! 6 months later lol i done it well we done it!!
