I love it - its brilliant if you like having complete tactical control of the battlefield.

Even with 1 point in it, its a great distraction.
Use it on the foe closest to you and all the enemies behind it will focus on it instead of you allowing you time to get into position or take out the deadliest foe in the group.
And all the while you and your team get free hits at your own targets without taking any damage yourself.

Also, locking down the main group will allow you time to take out anyone trying to flank you, before you get rushed.

With 3 points in it and 3 upgrades in biotics, the cooldown is short enough that you can keep the deadliest foe in a bunch constantly dominated and it will take out all the enemies - and still have time to spam another skill in between. Guys with rocket launchers, flamethrowers or shotguns are good for this.

Maxed at area dominate, can be fun to watch them take each other out, tho isnt exactly essential. Can be useful for insta-killing groups of husks with their armour removed. (Group pull can do this also but if you already have the points in dominate then a 1 point pull for the fast cooldown is enough.)

Awesome skill!

I don't like it only because it seems to have no in-universe sound explanation.

I cannot use it as none of my Shepards are Ardat-Yakshi.

i like it for some start of battle chaos; let's me survey the enemy's disposition. rarely use it after that initial blast.

Meh.

Great on Morinth, but don't like it on Shepard.

I can just pwn them personally, instead.

Love it. I use it on my infiltrator with Enchanced AI hacking. So through out the whole game, I always could hack someone.

It takes a lot of pressure of your squad. You can even get the Harbinger to fight for you temporarily (of course, you have to dominate a collector right before he would transform, I've only done it twice and both times were pure luck on my part)

Had dominate during my Adept playthrough on insanity. It turned the game into a comedy! heh

I only let Morinth use it, while my Infiltrator uses Reave. But since I got Morinth late in the game, I didn't get to use it as much as I wanted.

Love it. Nothing is more fun than domination duels between you and Harbinger. Harbinger dominates one guy, you dominate another, and they go at it. Almost makes me feel sorry for the poor chump Collectors :( It never gets old.

(Also, in terms of sheer powergaming, I don't think much of anything else is as useful or powerful as Dominate for an extra skill, though some are certainly easier to use)

I use it as sentinel on my current playtrough, usually in a fight I leave 1 enemy with shields / barriers / armors down alive and use dominate on him every once in a while, its very nice for drawing fire away from you and specially using it on enemys with rocket launchers causes alot of damage and havoc :)

Yea you have to remember that it's always magic THe Force mass efect fields. Actually in this case it's that eye stuff that Mordin does. You know, when they turn black and normal asari would say "Embrace Eternity!".

...and if you want to roleplay it from a Tech viewpoint then imagine throwing a 'bag' of nanobots at your target which infect the host and control its muscle movements until their brief energy supply runs out.

Far fetched? - Just as far fetched as the rest of the ME universe!

And enemies even react sometimes with dialog.Werloc Guld called a other krogan a betrayer after he was dominated and attack him.

Husk missions are fun. Dominate abominations and watch them run to their nearest ex ally and explode.

To tell the truth, I find it useful only if I have AI hacking available, either from tali/legion, or as an infiltrator/engineer. The ability to turn any foe into an ally is a great help. It really sux that you have to strip their defenses first though.

lol - sweet! I thought they would just insta-die. I normally just strip & push them into enemies.
