I am in a progress of playing through ME1 again, and I am going to complete as much of the game as possible to make a good ME2/3 save for myself.
I have found all the keepers and scanned them. Now I am doing the mission for Jahleed, and in the middle of that, I get the option to " Chorban to stop, (Paragon) or you can help by continue to scan for him (Renegade)." This option is a bit wierd, because I am done scanning them.
Playing paragon atm, so I don't want to do much renegade, but I don't want to stop his mission chain either, for ME2/3's sake.
So the question is: If I tell him that I will stop scanning, is the chain broken or will I still get the e-mail in ME2 because I was already done?

That I'm not a 100% sure, but to be honest it does seem to follow ME logic at times so I'd just continue with the "continue to scan....(Renegade)". I've played through ME 1 twice lately and that's what I have done and afterwards in ME2 I've gotten the email from Jahleed.

You should be safer if you go with the Renegade option. Paragon will just say this is against Citadel regulations and blah blah, so it will cancel out the assignment automatically and I don't expect it to carry over to ME2.

Thank you for your response
I think you missed my question though.
I would very much like to go the paragon path.
As my Shepard found out that it's illegal to scan and that the scientist obtained the scanning equipment by stealing; he does not want to help him any more.
But I want to have a continuance of as much of the content as possible
so..: Can I click "I don't wanna scan more keepers for you.." and still get the mail in ME2? (I am guessing that getting that e-mail is making the quest continue in ME3)
Edit: wrote this post when 2nd reply came. I see you are thinking the same as reply #1. And I agree, 'I don't expect it to' carry over either, but I would like to know 100% for sure

Well, no, I doubt it. The reason I think it won't happen is because choosing the Paragon option will be translated into "Keeper assignment not completed; no email", regardless of whether you actually scanned some keepers. It's just how the game recognizes/reads it.
But trust me, I'm a 100% Paragon myself. Yet for that particular assignment, it's a no-brainer for me to go with the Renegade response (because I want to scan the keepers).

I guess you are right though, thank you.

Actually. You can keep scanning regardless. If you chose the Renegade, you just go ahead and keep scanning and getting paid.
But if you do the Paragon and basically tell everyone to stop, Jaelead or err...chorban( Err...however you spell the Volus's name) will continue his research for you. He will pay you for any excess scans for any Keepers. So really it doesn't matter because this will travel into your ME2 transfer.
