You still miss my standpoint. I must say, your language capacity is much better than most first language users native speakers, (added a comma) though.

I am just using "facepalm" to highlight the general l33t speech/talk, or what however it is termed. If these terms are exceptable acceptable, then perhaps the authors and writers of Dragon Age should implement them into their future sequels., no? It is all the same, is it not? As long as the expressions and meaning can be brought across the wide audience (incomplete sentence).

aAnd I am right in that you are arguing because you can't stand not having to have the last say in this? (I changed this into a question).

Ok, I've been doing my best to stay out of this, but really, you need to stop while you're behind.  The grammatical and spelling errors in your posts have got to be the funniest thing I've seen for a long time.

Please please please, for your own sake, just STOP!

No. That last post was my final to hers.

You said so yourself, every situation require an appropriate level of the English language.

I fixed a few more for you!  All your posts are like this, though. Awful grammar, spelling, incomplete sentences.  You are not making a very good case for yourself at all.

Some of those are not grammatically wrong, just not the usual way of expression you are used to. that sentence was meant to be incomplete.

Ugh, "facepalm" happens to be one of my favorite "memes" (though it's so common it can't even be called a meme anymore I guess).

Are you seriously going to complain about that? Because it's so hard to understand what "facepalm" means that I have to explicitly tell you that "I am hitting my face with my palm, as a sign of how retarded or depressing a certain situation or comment is"?

If so, then all I can say is. *Facepalm*.

So you are arguing for now what you were arguing against? Sounds good to me. And no matter how you express yourself, an incomplete sentence is a grammatical error. Plus, I did further edits to my first correction the post of yours that I proofread.

My major point was it's silly to complain about the typos and grammatical errors of others when your own posts are rife with them. I could correct any one of your posts as they all are sloppy. You're making yourself look foolish. Of course, I'm finding it exceedingly funny, so carry on if you enjoy doing this to yourself!

*grin* I'm not the one complaining about the written language of others.  Besides, "have got" is very common where I live.  So sorry!

darkmax fails to understand that written language and spoken language are two very different things. If all us internet users were to write a novel we would have to use our written language or english, and no grammatical errors or typos would be allowed. However the language used on the internet is NOT the written language (ironically) but the spoken language. But since we don't have any voice on the internet we have to write down our spoken language, which often results in some pretty bad grammatical errors and a lot of typos.

Then clearly, the place you live in is committing a crime against the English language. What if your place  decides to spread this error to the rest of the world, so that in a few years, everyone will commit the same error as you. Can you imagine the catastrophe?!

You're right. That would be bad.  Midwestern America must be annihilated before that happens.

No, I do understand the difference between the two. However, it is this generation of internet users who have no concept of what is written and what is not. Language evolution is inevitable. However, typing and writing cannot be considered spoken language, even on the inter-web.

Netizen who are too lazy to write proper sentences would argue this point, of course.

Gosh! Please go red my initial post. Also it is now quarter past 2 in the morning. My sight is hazy and my thoughts are quite muddled.

I do make a lot of typos because of the way I type, but I try my best to correct whatever I find. If you may be so kind, please show me those posts that is sloppy and full of errors.

Gosh! Please go red read my initial post. Also it is now quarter past 2 in the morning. My sight is hazy and my thoughts are quite muddled.

I read your initial post.  It still doesn't mean you're not making an ass out of yourself when you use poor grammar and spelling to complain about the grammar and spelling of others!  Your written English is better than many native speakers, I agree with that; however, it certainly is silly to complain about it!  It's not like you're going to make any changes, and you end up looking very foolish as your posts all have many errors as well.

Now get some rest, have a good night sleep, and flame again another day!   Night night!

Edit: And yes, I do see the double negative I used.  I'm not the one complaining about the grammar of others, though!  A forum is far more informal than any professional writing I have done :wizard:

i intentionally ignore capitalization in my posts. always have since i started on the interwebs. i try when i can to use the correct words and grammar. sometimes a goofy word here and there isn't so bad. my main gripes are things like usage of there, their, and they're. other than that i just want the person to be clear in what they're saying.

Actually it can, and especially on the internet. Since we got no way of expressing ourselves with our voices on the internet (at least not on forums anyway), we have to type what we want to say. However the topics we discus on the forums around the internet are rarely formal enough to demand a proper written language.
