In Mass Effect 1 you could put Squad Points into Charm and Intimidate skills from the Squad Menu. In Mass Effect 2, I do not see a Charm or Intimidate skill bar that you can spend Squad Points on. This is especially confusing because the instruction booklet for the Xbox 360 version of Mass Effect 2 says:
"Your Paragon and Renegade meters represent your skills at Charm or Intimidate. You can boost your Charm and Intimidate skills by spending squad points." (Page 15)
Despite many hours of trying to figure this out, I cannot spend squad points to boost my Charm or Intimidate skills at any point in the game. Can someone please tell me specificially, step-by-step, how I spend my Squad Points to boost my Charm and Intimidate skills?

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, I don't know what you mean. How do I put a "level" into a "class bonus", and how does that give me a bonus to Charm and Intimidate? Is there a way to view what level your current Charm or Intimidate skills are at? Is there a way to choose where the "percentage bonus" goes, or does it just go to both Charm and Intimidate?
I ask because I had no problem opening up extra conversation options using my Charm and Intimidate skills in Mass Effect 1. However, in Mass Effect 2, I cannot get the extra conversation options to open up, even though my Paragon meter is 75% full. What am I doing wrong, and how do I get the extra conversation options to become available?

Besides from the ordinary powers like "Lift" and "Charge" etc... you have the "class Power" I.e Combat Mastery, Tech Mastery etc.
This is the power that increases your overall health, dmg, cooldown reduction, depending on what class you are. But it also increases the percentage of your Paragon/Renegade meter. If you read your specific class Power you will see exactly how it works, how many percent that rise each level you spend.

^^ What saammii said.
I'm playing a soldier class right now and I've got my combat power maxed out. It's actually one of the first things I do because it allows me more paragon/renagade choices. If you're unsure about any power details, just mouse over them (I'm playing it on PC) or select it? (I don't have the 360 version) and it'll show you exactly what it does/entails.
I hope this helps.
