You can always tell game/cartoon/anime fans because voice tends to be as much of a draw as appearance. I admit half of my fondness for Garrus is DAT VOICE. I could listen to Keener read a phonebook.
True dat. All my earliest crushes were on VAs, and in my younger days I used to be able to reliably name an unknown VA from a single line of dialogue for a crazy amount of actors.
It's great that the gaming industry is now finally treating the craft (and the gaming public) with the respect it deserves. For a long time, so many games just phoned in the VO, as if it didn't matter at all (Res. Evil, anyone? lol)
I thnk when the voice doesn't fit, it changes the entire experience for the worse. Take Heavy Rain, for example: amazing visuals, great story, wonderful actors, but something doesn't quite gel and it's jarring as heck!
Sorry. Back on topic.
