Yrdin I hate to use an EA cookie cutter answer but what about deleting your game data utility and re-downloading the feastday combo? Maybe it's the act of doing it and not the purchase that fixes things. Admittedly I don't have much faith in this idea but I've got nothing better.

Well I broke down and bought the feast day combo pack. Just like Thruth74646 said, it worked. All DLC is shown. I realize they are working on a fix and if nothing else I should wait out of principle (because if everyone gives them 3 bucks then why not continue putting out broken DLCs) but I just wanted it to work so I can get on with playing the game instead of hanging out on the message boards waiting for news. How long is too long before you just give them the 3 bucks and say screw it.

I pretty much accepted the fact this issue will be pushed under the rug. I got somebody off of Craigslist that wants to buy the game off of me so I will most likely have it sold by Friday. I just ordered a copy of Nier, so I guess I'll just go to one of their competitors to play an RPG since they don't want to fix this. Besides, with all this crap I'm reading about glitches with the game on PS3 it doesn't even sound like it's worth it. I might repurchase it in a month for the 360 to avoid all this headache. By then it should be 20 dollars on EBAY.

After numerous back and forth in e-mails, I finally called support last week. The rep told me that my best and only bet was to "wait it out" for my Shale and Blood Dragon Armor.

Honestly I don't dare to do it, but if it is the only way I suppose I may try.

Anyway I've spent the night thinking and two ideas came to my mind. Maybe they have already been suggested or they're stupid, I'm not a game programmer so I don't know if they can work, but

a) Since the Sulcher's Pass merchant still offers the Stone Prisoner DLC, maybe Bioware could offer a refund for those of us who decide to buy it having succesfully redeemed the code (and providing proof of it)

Since it seems purchasing/downloading the Feastday Combo pack allows the other DLCs to appear, and this one seems the best option... what about releasing a "fake" empty DLC, similar to the Feastday Combo Pack, and downloadable for free, so people can download it and make the other DLCs to appear?. As I said, I know nothing of game programming, but it seems logical that if something makes the DLCs appear, something similar can get it too. Bioware doesn't need to make a wonderfull DLC here, maybe using the Combo Pack information and giving away, let's see... a value 0 iron ring or something like that (though compensation gifts would be appreciated:P) would be enough, because what we want here is just to download what we are entitled to downloead, nothing more. It seems a simple way to get a solution here since the Feastday programming is already done and they only would have to change it a bit (and make it free...)

Anyone out there could say if it is possible to do this?

Just got the game today and same thing happened. Hopefully it gets fixed soon but the DLC I have already is enough to keep me satisfied!

k so something weird happened. 

I got the blood armor and shale with no problem.

All all I did was exit out of the game, go to the PSN store and play the game again.  I joined the EA/DA servers again and both items were there for easy download.  I had to quit, go to PSN, join again to download both but they both worked without fail both times. 

Weird, I wonder if Bioware actually fixed it.

The issue regarding the downloadable content, specifically, "Blood Dragon Armor" and "The Stone Prisoner", currently are a known issue, and the development team is working to resolve this. This would have previously been resolved, but with the new firmware update, we're having to make some adjustments as far as the fix with this. I really do apologize for the inconvenience, but rest assured, this should be up and working soon.

Yrdin just to make sure you aren't making the mistake I first did the game data utility is not your saved character, it's the data loaded into the PS3 to allow the game to be played, the installation. I know some have said their saved game was corrupted after that but I did it repeatedly with no problem.



Fionavar they are from 2 sources, I think the lucky stone came from using the Dragon Age Character creator, can't actually use the character but you get the item for doing it. The other items are from playing Dragon Age Journey(s), it's a flash based game on the dragon age page.

I am in the US.  I dont know what I did to tell you the truth.  When I started DA, went to the PSN through the dlc section and came back to the game there was an option in the bottom left corner to connect to the servers.  I did that, it loaded and both options popped up.  I had to do everthing over again for both of them, but it worked both times.

I got an answer to my suggestions from Fernando Melo:

Hi - the suggestions are good but the issue is that this is not a
straight forward process once you get other parties (in this case Sony)
involved Any sort of refunds would actually need to come from them,
and like MS they don't do these per policy. EA itself can't distinguish
individuals that buy from the console stores either - only those using
EA codes, so we also couldn't even instruct Sony to specifically refund
a list of people.



Releasing new content takes weeks from the time it leaves our hands
due to the console cert process. And even if we could do that sooner,
it actually doesn't solve the problem from what we can see of how the
store is handling this error - you can see some of this from people
saying that they've bought other content instead of Feastday but their
free items still didn't donwload.



We need to fix the store to handle this correctly - anything else
will either take too long, or actually further complicate the issue
(and subsequently, complicate and delay a real fix).



Sorry, realize it is not a great answer for those waiting on this
content - but after evaluating a lot of factors, we believe this is the
right way to handle it.

While I understand the points I can't help feeling a bit disapointed. I mean, I REALLY want to download the Stone Prisoner and I'm the kind of people who doesn't surrender before giving a try so... just saying they're not going to try makes me feel bad.

I bet I'll have to try to do that. You can't imagine how much do I regret having redeemed the codes AFTER purchasing the Feastday Combo pack and not before

Okay I made a rant on another forum post and deleted it. Here is plain and simple:

For those of us with PSN accounts and Bioware accounts from PC games. We are getting shafted. Working on my own private game server, it does not take us weeks to produce a bug fix and yes, we are MMO. Though I am just in soft coding, I have found soft code workarounds for a lot of bugs till we work on the hard coding.



I have been in the bioware community forever, and never have I seen issues this bad.. or this neglected and blown off. I own every game bioware has minus Mass Effect games. Before with a bug, we would get a fix asap. But those were pc related. But seeing that most console games run on port configurations and coding (Example being Oblivion from TES, hence why it looks crappier then Morrowind), it should be an easier fix. In my opinion anyhow.

I read you telling someone not to bring the console wars in here, but you clearly brought up Nintendo and MS... so you brought up console wars. On that end. Wii causes household injuries en masse daily. Do some research. Xbox 360 users cant generally use their consoles without overheating. So in the end I think Nintendo users end up with mass medical bills and lawsuits on nintendo. XBox.. lol their users either buy a new XBox.. or wait.. Just by the PC game of the game there playing. Since ALMOST every game on xbox minus a handful of XBox only games are on the PC.. or.. oh PS3... which doesn't overheat.



BTW I saw you trash talking some firmware sony puts out. Blame sony all you want. This is far from sony's "Firmware" upgrade fault. It's plain bad coding.



Truth be told, it has nothing to do with sony. Can you get DLC from any other game. Of course you can. Tell me different and you are a liar. It's just a Bioware issue. Hell, EA has no power over it. They say they are working on a fix, means they are getting all over BioWare about it. How do I know? I been on and off the phone with EA for days as well as email.



Yes, my content is registered to my account. Who cares? I can't use it. There is no fix date. We are not being put off for a FIX. They are waiting for people to stop buying Feastday content for their workaround. I don't care if they say otherwise, they are squeezing money out for some crappy DLC.. and know we have to get it to use our "busted" DLC. Anyone who has the feastday content I feel for you. There is three things to do with GIFT knowledge. Get a strategy guide, go to the forums here for gift info, or go to a gaming faq site. All the gift info == in there to max out "love" relationships.



Sadly, my only gripe with EA is they are covering for Bioware right now.



Also. For a content max I read about? I assume Bioware knows nothing about Disgaea 3 with the over.. oh 30 items for DLC? I, nor others are having DLC issues in that game? Same with Little Big Planet, and many other large DLC games.

I bought a copy of the game last week, but I have a little problem regarding the Shale dlc.

The first time I tried to redeem the Shale dlc on the Ps3, it told me that the code is invalid. I tried on the site, but it told me that the code was already redeemed...

Any advise?

Call EA tech support and ask them to bind your Blood dragon armor and shale codes to your psn account.

Very well said KhaoticCarnifex!! This is plain laziness at the least and most likely a scheme to rip people off as long as possible. Its been a looooong time since they released the DLC and since this issue is known. Why advertise something on the box and then not deliver on the promise?

There is no way I will ever pay a penny to get something that I already own. This is my first Bioware game and although I like the game itself it will probably be my last.

I had the same problem some weeks ago, Shale just didnt show up in the DLC menu, but to my great surprise I started the game today and it was right there and im downloading now, so dont give up hoping. (even though it took quite a while)

Nah don't let it be the last, just aim for PC version lol... Never had an issue with their PC games honestly.

I
am not telling everyone to give up hope. Far from it. I just want to
educate people this is more simplistic then they themselves are making
it (BioWare). It is reminiscient of Atari with a couple PC based games. They
didn't fix their bugs in a timely fashion (Some major ones, not at all)
and it came down to a bunch of unpaid programmers to release self made
patch updates to fix the content in no time at all.

I guess what
I am getting at, if this is a money-making scheme... this is wrong. If
it is not one, then maybe they should look at hiring new people to fix
these alleged issues.

The game server I run is an emulator from
one of the oldest MMORPG's there is. I know when I started
soft-coding.. I had little to no programming knowledge, but with what I
myself was learning, I was doing things no one had dreamed of doing...
even on the paid for servers owned by a certain company...

give up. Just know, that I am trying to point out, this coincidence in
why some content released newly can fix it, but nothing else can. It's poor programming, or a money-making scheme.. if the latter, then I can see why you wouldn't want to buy another BioWare game. Hell i'd rethink my stance if I didn't own almost every game they have. LOL.

I am glad you have your content. That is great news, but I still don't have mine, nor does others. I played the flash game unlocking all the content and achievements last night, I still don't even have downloads for that. And I beat that in no time  But, seriously. At least some of you are getting your content. Which is good.

Again everyone, don't be mad at sony or EA. I don't see DLC issues with other games I own. And as for EA their other games are having no DLC issues that I KNOW OF. I just know, BioWare is.

I hope they get this resolved soon. Very soon. For those of us "Loyal" customers who have been with BioWare since the beginning.

STOP IT..... you really need to review your responses better.  Yes for a CASH REFUND pawn it off on Sony.  HOWEVER, dont tell me Bioware and/or EA couldnt offer some compensation.  Give codes for a free addon to those experiencing troubles.  Is that a SONY thing too??  I dont think so.

You havent even fixed the problems you have, yet you still have the audacity to publish an ad for "The Darkspawn Chronicles"  Why is that not being given to PS3 users for free?  Why is a code not being offered to those of us having issues (when its available of course)?  Why not offer a free code for any number of currently available DLC items?? 

Dont tell me that Bioware can only shrug its shoulders and point fingers at Sony.  That is an unexceptable answer and i will wag a finger of shame for you even attempting to take that stance.  There are PLENTY of options EA and Bioware can take to ease this sitation.  Yet you continue to tell people to wait wait wait and wait a little more....

but oh yeah if you buy the feastday combo is "unintentionally" fixes it.....

Like I said above. Sony is not having this issue with other games and their DLC.. and neither are other EA games having this issue. Yet BioWare points the finger at sony's firmware and their stores... and everything they can think of... instead of thinking about their own glitched coding.



As stated. You all own more then just Dragon Age... lol Download DLC from another game.. it will work fine. So if this was a Sony issue, not a single piece of DLC from any game on the market would work.

So basically without telling us to buy their crap, he told us to buy their crap or wait weeks on end, till people stop buying their crap.



To me, this is more a money-making issue, then it is a bug. It could be remedied asap. At worse, this is what I noticed.



Since I been working on a project dealing with new games and trophies.. I noticed Sony updates trophies on PSN accounts about every 72 hours it seems. My friends platinum on Resonance of Fate took that long to show up. So to hear Sony takes weeks to update, is yet another lie. The systems for trophies are updated every 3 days at the LATEST.



How much more Crap are we going to be fed about Sony and EA? BioWare fix ya crap asap. You are losing customers... not keeping them around.



I unlike others have to much personal investment in your company to just return $100 in CD's to gamestop. Since i own everything you have. You have earned enough of my money.



And jahmyrr is 100% right. How the hell can YOU sit there and release new content, when your systems are busted. You do realize console gamers over count your pc gamers. And I would even bet most of your Dragon Age, current players are on PS3 since the Xbox has the issues it does with overheating. It is kind of disturbing as a programmer myself to see this. You all have never done anything like this before.



I have even read certain things about Dragon Age on PC... which from what I read, made me get it on console.. because of the issues the PC had with it. Like the players cant play their game unless their attached to your hosting.. Which I think you all resolved.. I hope.. but that's scary to think you could have a server down and pc player cant play.



With all this, it pushed me to buy for the console. Now I have it for the console, you are screwing us over on here too.



Sad. Like I said in an earlier post, I just unlocked the 3 items from the flash game asap last night.

So to get my blood dragon armor + Shale + those three items.. I can either wait weeks for your "Fix" (Ie people to stop buying feastday).. or I can just sit there tonight and spend $2.99 on garbage I will just put in my Junk Tab on the game, just to get my content... Seems pretty unfair. Wait weeks or give you money and get it now. Yeah... very unfair.



I will hold out.



I do agree with others, there should be a bonus for our waiting. I don't think the XBox users are having this issue. How bout PS3 users get some free DLC? I have never thought I would ask that from a company, but this issue has gone on for over a month or two now? Don't tell me it's a bug.
