I know she isn't.  I just wanted to write a title that would catch some people's eyes. ^.^

But I do notice a striking similarity to Tali:

-Similar hood covering head.
-Face being obscured.  (Granted, you can partially see Kasumi's face, but it's still somewhat obscured.)
-Similar costume.  (It looks almost identical to what Tali has.)
-Same pose, only mirrored on the squad selection screen.  (Tali is leaning I believe to her right, with her right hand on her wasit.  Kasumi is the opposite.)
-Similar body type.
-Almost identical, if not completely identical, body movements in-game.

I'm thinking that BioWare is poking some sort of fun at Tali fans, but that's just me.

What do you guys think?

I used to be a tali fan.



Then I downloaded the kasumi DLC.



The rest is history.

hmm i wonder if the kasumi ingame model is based on the tali model using same/similar animations.

Threads about similarities with Miranda have been popping up as well. Don't really care about it imo. Voice acting is good, good backstory, good abilities,... Can't complain about Kasumi, very nice & somewhat unique addition to the team.

Kasumi and Tali do share animations and poses, but that's  more than likely to keep down developement time and costs, not as a poke at Tali fans.

As regards the costumes: Talis' outfit is much more culture and practicality (as seen on the Flotila) while Kasumis' outfit is more more her being some kind of mysterious, sneaky.. ninja... thief... 

I just like her as she is though

Kasumi is a direct ripoff of Tali, and it's pretty blatant. I guess Bioware wanted to cash in on the slavish devotion of Talimancers, by giving them another digital avatar to fantasize about. There is already a 'romance Kasumi' movement, and she's been in the game for what, two days? Less?

Yeah, except for how Tali isn't a criminal, Kasumi isn't a young girl hopelessly in love with Shepard but actually the only female squadmate who isn't attracted to him at all, Tali is from a highly sociable alien species and Kasumi is a human loner, Tali has a weird accent, you can see Kasumi's face... shall I go on?

Tali and Kasumi are both very slim women. Given this, the developers probably decided to shave a few hours of work by taking the Tali model and making changes to it, rather than creating an entirely new model from scratch. You can call it cheap if you want, but to me, it's an example of, 'Work smarter, not harder' in action.

Wow this is going to really ****** off some talimancers out there look just because the animations and looks are similar doesn't make it a rip off the characters personalities and backstories are completely different, I mean come on give bioware some credit for all the things included in this dlc. I personally like her and her mission and see no similarities in the characters

And the idea of BioWare saving money and time by using the Tali model is most likely. I'm just marveling at the similarities, as I initially thought Kasumi was a new DLC for Tali being unmasked. (As others had also thought.)

I like Tali (the most) and Kasumi. I would not mind seeing her as a squady in ME3. Would be a shame if she were just making a cameo appearance.
