I'm the opposite. I was 40 hours in on my casteless dwarf(third character) and been enjoying it quite a bit. I was just getting ready to load up my game to pour in a good 2-3 hours yesterday but my PC died right before it. And this one is way too weak to run it satisfyingly. It can't even do SW:KotOR! :(

Here here! Not long completed morrowind again, perhaps oblivion deserves another run through

God yes, I have many fond memories of Morrowind, especially with the mod trifecta of Vampire Embrace/Hunger/Realism installed. Also, who can forget the Lilacor mod? That annoying sword took me from level 1 to godhood.

Did DA: O ten times and DA: A three times. Now I'm going to start again playing enemy territory.

If you like DaO in terms of full on voice acting, story, etc. Try out The Witcher, awesome game.

I'll second that...started playing The Witcher a couple of days ago. Brilliant, truly brilliant. Get the retail Enhanced Edition. Has lots of goodies in the box.

My friend played the Witcher on my recommendation which really came from this forum.  People have complained that it's buggy, and maybe so, but otherwise, that game seems to get straight up simple praise.  No qualifications or explanations...just stuff like "great game" as if it speaks best for itself.  So I was intrigued.  My friend loved it.

So The Witcher is the next game on my list.  I have a few play throughs on DAO, and all the origin stories, and one play through of Awakenings with an Orlesian warden.  I do want to do a kind of definitive play through of DAO and Awakenings at some point, but with the real life outdoors calling and The Witcher, we'll see.

I haven't played the game in a bit but with the regular season for the NHL coming to a close I think I might play some Dragon Age this weekend. That is after I watch the home and home games of the Flyers and Rangers.

I played it maybe a bit more than a year ago (the enhanced edition) And I don't remember any bugs really, I'm sure there were some but it shows how much I loved the game that for the life of me I can't remember any problems :)

I've done 4 playthroughs of DA:O and now I feel like I've burned out, so I'll return to it in a couple of weeks.

I'm on my third playthrough and I'll probably take a break after I finish it. Civilization IV is calling to me once again.

My son got Civilization IV for my birthday. Is is good?I used to play Sim City and enjoyed it.

I know I SHOULD like it, Galactic civs is one of my all time favorite games, for some reason Civ 4 does nothing for me though.  It's odd because strategy games are my prefered genre, for some reason I lose all intrest in civ 4 about the time I pass the fuedal eras.

It's nothing like Sim City however.

I just finished about 2 days ago of doing nothing, but DA:O trying to finish one of my Arcane Warrior mages I made specifically to fit it for Awakening, did it in about 3 days and I'm regretting it cause I feel like I need to make another few characters for the 2 other classes due to the 5 other fully played chracters were deleted when my PS3 Harddrive became corrupted and had to be wiped.

I thought that once i had unlocked all of the achievements i would be done with it... but nope. It's like a really great film than you can watch over and over again.

It'll probably be a while before i give it a full play through again, but i have a save from just before the Landsmeet that i have revisited a few times. The last hour and a half of Origins is just spectacular.

Unfortunately I only lasted 1 full playthrough and about 1/4 of the second one. I'm not sure what it is, I loved the game...but I can't bring myself to play it again, probably becaues its a pretty big undertaking, what with the first game lasting some 70 hours. I'm DAO'd out for now, I'll probably play it again in about a year.

I've been playing Bioware games almost exclusively for the past 5 months so maybe I just need to take a break from those. Or maybe rpg's in general.

Honestly if I had a mod where I can kill all the enemies in one shot, I would replay the whole thing with my 3 last character just to see the story with those origins. I am so tired of the combat I cannot put myself through a fourth playthrough.

( I know there is the "runscript killallhostiles" command but I've read that it can break the game when some npcs need to talk to you after being vanquished)

There is a few bugs, but nowt game breaking, and it isn't as polished as DA. Combat takes some getting used as real time. There are also some pretty heavy duplication of NPC models. None of this would stop me form saying that it is still brilliant. With The Witcher 2 announced, looks like some good RPG times ahead :D

I find that if I'm feeling the way you describe about a long RPG, waiting for a few months for a bunch of excellent mods to be released can really make the game feel fresh again. When DAO first came out I played it twice in a row, but I got burnt out on it after the second playthrough.

I waited a few months and in that time a whole bunch of player-created armours, weapons, preset faces, complexions, hairstyles, makeup options and skin/eye colours had been released, along with Dragon Age Redesigned, which really made the game feel new again. I subsequently played through it twice more.

Pretty much the same thing happened for BG2, Oblivion and Fallout 3, and especially Morrowind.

Doing my fifth and sixth play throughs, still enjoying the game a lot. Mixing my teams to max out the funny dialogue and create different playing challenges. Love all the origin stories, doing the human and dwarf noble ones now, which were great. Haven't tried Awakenings yet but will, then probably ME 1 and 2. Can always take a break with Warhammer: Online or my game of five years now, World of Warcraft. But have found DA:O to be super by and large.

The other thing that made The Witcher special is that the developpers (pretty small) were pressured to realease it by the distributors and they were pissed because it wasn't up to par. But they kept working at it until it was up to their standards and released the enhanced edition, but guess what, that edition was made available for free to all who had the original game. I think they showed a lot of respect for their fans and pride in their work,  I cannot wait to throw some money their way for the recently announced Witcher 2.

Have played The Witcher; IMO one of the best story-driven games out there, bar none (the music was phenomenal, too). Amazing detail in the game, and not just with the graphics.  Really brought the setting to life in a way that I haven't seen elsewhere, and that significantly enhanced the rest of the experience.  Combat wasn't my favourite, but at least it was simple enough to let me enjoy all of the flashy moves Geralt was using to put the hurt on.

'course I started off with the Enhanced Edition, so my impressions are formed on that instead of the Heap O' Bugs that was the original release, but I'm still anticipating the sequel to that one.... if a little hesitantly.  I've got the both core versions of the game (original release and enhanced edition), and went through the original version after the fact, and... well...

Let's just hope the sequel doesn't need the Enhanced Edition treatment the way the first one did.  I don't doubt that the developers over there have a great attitude regarding their work and their fans, but publishers are a different beast altogether.

I really want to find a good mod for Oblivion, though, that gives me a
proper PC-style interface.  That's the one thing that keeps turning me
off Oblivion, the console interface.  Have to press three or four
buttons to do what should be accessible with one, and it always drives
me away after a few hours.

Anyway, also on the list are Drakensang (started that one but got distracted by Risen), Risen (started that one, but got distracted by Fallout 3), and Fallout 3 (started that one but got distracted by Dragon Age). And yes, this is something that always happens when I get relatively new hardware.  I pick up all the titles that I didn't get to play because my 'puter was under-spec, but then can't settle on which to complete first.

Dragon Age and ME being the exceptions to that rule in this instance.

i've moved on to awakening for now. on my first runthrough in awakening. i completed 3 runs through origins and have a fourth that i started mostly to see the april fool's gags. after i finsh up awakening i may do it a few more times and then maybe go back to oblivion, which is on hold until i'm done with awakening. if i can ever get my jade empire copy i'll try that, but so far it's been tough.

I'm back,

I've actually yet to complete the game and I bought it when it first came out.

Not because it isn't a good game, it's just the in-game quest giver who then prompts you to buy more DLC annoyed me so much I refused to play it for about 18 months.

However more recently I have just looked past that and have really enjoyed playing the rest of the game.

Currently playing a Mage and about halfway through the game and really enjoying it.. :)

When I complete it, I might get DA:A, but the stability issues I've read about do worry me, so I dunno.
