God yes, I have many fond memories of Morrowind, especially with the mod trifecta of Vampire Embrace/Hunger/Realism installed. Also, who can forget the Lilacor mod? That annoying sword took me from level 1 to godhood.NamiraWilhelm wrote...

If you like DaO in terms of full on voice acting, story, etc. Try out The Witcher, awesome game.
I'll second that...started playing The Witcher a couple of days ago. Brilliant, truly brilliant. Get the retail Enhanced Edition. Has lots of goodies in the box.
My friend played the Witcher on my recommendation which really came from this forum. People have complained that it's buggy, and maybe so, but otherwise, that game seems to get straight up simple praise. No qualifications or explanations...just stuff like "great game" as if it speaks best for itself. So I was intrigued. My friend loved it.
So The Witcher is the next game on my list. I have a few play throughs on DAO, and all the origin stories, and one play through of Awakenings with an Orlesian warden. I do want to do a kind of definitive play through of DAO and Awakenings at some point, but with the real life outdoors calling and The Witcher, we'll see.

I played it maybe a bit more than a year ago (the enhanced edition) And I don't remember any bugs really, I'm sure there were some but it shows how much I loved the game that for the life of me I can't remember any problems

I'm on my third playthrough and I'll probably take a break after I finish it. Civilization IV is calling to me once again.
I know I SHOULD like it, Galactic civs is one of my all time favorite games, for some reason Civ 4 does nothing for me though. It's odd because strategy games are my prefered genre, for some reason I lose all intrest in civ 4 about the time I pass the fuedal eras.
It's nothing like Sim City however.

It'll probably be a while before i give it a full play through again, but i have a save from just before the Landsmeet that i have revisited a few times. The last hour and a half of Origins is just spectacular.

I've been playing Bioware games almost exclusively for the past 5 months so maybe I just need to take a break from those. Or maybe rpg's in general.

( I know there is the "runscript killallhostiles" command but I've read that it can break the game when some npcs need to talk to you after being vanquished)

There is a few bugs, but nowt game breaking, and it isn't as polished as DA. Combat takes some getting used as real time. There are also some pretty heavy duplication of NPC models. None of this would stop me form saying that it is still brilliant. With The Witcher 2 announced, looks like some good RPG times ahead

I find that if I'm feeling the way you describe about a long RPG, waiting for a few months for a bunch of excellent mods to be released can really make the game feel fresh again. When DAO first came out I played it twice in a row, but I got burnt out on it after the second playthrough.I Valente I wrote...
Unfortunately I only lasted 1 full playthrough and about 1/4 of the second one. I'm not sure what it is, I loved the game...but I can't bring myself to play it again, probably becaues its a pretty big undertaking, what with the first game lasting some 70 hours. I'm DAO'd out for now, I'll probably play it again in about a year.
I've been playing Bioware games almost exclusively for the past 5 months so maybe I just need to take a break from those. Or maybe rpg's in general.
I waited a few months and in that time a whole bunch of player-created armours, weapons, preset faces, complexions, hairstyles, makeup options and skin/eye colours had been released, along with Dragon Age Redesigned, which really made the game feel new again. I subsequently played through it twice more.
Pretty much the same thing happened for BG2, Oblivion and Fallout 3, and especially Morrowind.

Have played The Witcher; IMO one of the best story-driven games out there, bar none (the music was phenomenal, too). Amazing detail in the game, and not just with the graphics. Really brought the setting to life in a way that I haven't seen elsewhere, and that significantly enhanced the rest of the experience. Combat wasn't my favourite, but at least it was simple enough to let me enjoy all of the flashy moves Geralt was using to put the hurt on.wonko33 wrote...
The other thing that made The Witcher special is that the developpers (pretty small) were pressured to realease it by the distributors and they were pissed because it wasn't up to par. But they kept working at it until it was up to their standards and released the enhanced edition, but guess what, that edition was made available for free to all who had the original game. I think they showed a lot of respect for their fans and pride in their work, I cannot wait to throw some money their way for the recently announced Witcher 2.
'course I started off with the Enhanced Edition, so my impressions are formed on that instead of the Heap O' Bugs that was the original release, but I'm still anticipating the sequel to that one.... if a little hesitantly. I've got the both core versions of the game (original release and enhanced edition), and went through the original version after the fact, and... well...
Let's just hope the sequel doesn't need the Enhanced Edition treatment the way the first one did. I don't doubt that the developers over there have a great attitude regarding their work and their fans, but publishers are a different beast altogether.
I really want to find a good mod for Oblivion, though, that gives me a
proper PC-style interface. That's the one thing that keeps turning me
off Oblivion, the console interface. Have to press three or four
buttons to do what should be accessible with one, and it always drives
me away after a few hours.
Anyway, also on the list are Drakensang (started that one but got distracted by Risen), Risen (started that one, but got distracted by Fallout 3), and Fallout 3 (started that one but got distracted by Dragon Age). And yes, this is something that always happens when I get relatively new hardware. I pick up all the titles that I didn't get to play because my 'puter was under-spec, but then can't settle on which to complete first.
Dragon Age and ME being the exceptions to that rule in this instance.

got the Ultimate edition on Steam (it was cheaper than getting awakenings and all the DLC i missed) And I am back to playing to get in shape for DA2. Any of you guys came back to the game in preparation of DA2?

Not because it isn't a good game, it's just the in-game quest giver who then prompts you to buy more DLC annoyed me so much I refused to play it for about 18 months.
However more recently I have just looked past that and have really enjoyed playing the rest of the game.
Currently playing a Mage and about halfway through the game and really enjoying it..
When I complete it, I might get DA:A, but the stability issues I've read about do worry me, so I dunno.
