I'm back,

got the Ultimate edition on Steam (it was cheaper than getting awakenings and all the DLC i missed) And I am back to playing to get in shape for DA2. Any of you guys came back to the game in preparation of DA2?

Yup.  Over the last couple of months, I played through Origins, Awakening, GoA, and Witch Hunt with my human noble.  Dragon Age felt fresh again, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Still giddy after playing the human noble, I started a dwarf noble about five days ago - an origin that I hadn't tried before.  I got about as far as the Korcari Wilds before the game started feeling like a chore, though.  I can't really motivate myself to do another playthrough.

I'm actually back to playing Civilization 4, just as I intended to do when I responded to this thread 11 months ago.

When I complete it, I might get DA:A, but the stability issues I've read about do worry me, so I dunno.

I originally intended to hold off buying DA:A until the major bugs were fixed as well.  When it became apparent that it wouldn't be happening, I just held my nose and shelled out the cash.  Sure, it crashed a few times and I got hit with the infamous Silverite Mine bug, but I saved often and knew about the bugs in advance so that I was able to take precautions.  I'm a bit peeved that I had to take such precautions, but I still think that Awakening was worth getting.

I've played about 24+ play-throughs that included all origins, both genders and all the DLC's. Started in Jan 2010 and stopped playing Feb 2011. Used a large number of mods that increased the play-time to over 120+ hrs per play-through. Yes, I thoroughly enjoyed the game . . . but then I got Civ5 and haven't gone back to DA.

After so many playthroughs, it was getting repetitive. I wish there was some more randomness in the game. For example, in every battle, I know exactly where every enemy is hiding and every corner that has loot. The dialogue was so predictable for every situation. If you have a companion at a specified approval, you always get the same dialogue. I wished they could have mixed it up and introduced more randomness to the encounters and some randomness to the dialogue as well. As it is, everything is scripted in stone. If you do steps A and B, result C is guaranteed. After a while, it just felt that my PC was stuck in a script that I could only change slightly.

The location mods and visual mods made for new looks but were no more than window-dressing after a while. Yes, I feel that I'm a little burned out on DA. I might come back it in a few months.

I'm in no hurry to play DA2. Suspect that it will be full of bugs. Has anything changed really? Same team of developers hobbled by EA. I don't expect quality assurance to be any better than it was with DA:O. Is DA2 even moddable? That was the only thing that sustained my interest in this game.
