If I try to upload images that are located on my desktop using the standard file upload widget it will complain that it cannot find the files (even though I just selected them).  If I put them in a folder on my desktop and open that folder (there by changing the path from "Desktop" to "C:\\Documents and Settings\\...\\Desktop\\New Folder\\" it will upload them.

I'm unable to reproduce this. What browser and version are you using and what version of windows are you running?

Windows XP Pro SP3 and Firefox 3.something. I can check the something when I get home from work.

It may also be relevant but I was also using multi-select to upload about 5 images at once however I was still using multi-select after I had moved them into the folder on my desktop and it worked then.

I'm still not able to reproduce this bug even running with the same setup as you. Where are you trying to upload images to (ie. project gallery or albums)? What is the error message you are getting? Are you able to take a screenshot of this happening? Thanks for you help!

Sorry I can't reproduce it either now, even using the same steps and the same files as before.

The error message was something about not being able to access the file. It was the second time I'd had it for a file on my desktop.

If it crops up again I'll ensure I get a screenie.

I have seen a few times on Vista, that things can be deleted or moved from the desktop, but the desktop still shows them on the desktop until you refresh it. It could be that you had something like that going on.

I was trying to delete some stuff off the desktop once, I would right click and select delete, then it would complain about not being able to find the file. Someone walked up and pressed F5, the item disappeared. They smiled at me and said "Vista"

I encountered a recurrance of this bug (see social.bioware.com/52/albums/16/3520).

I was able to cancel the file selector, select the two files in the reverse order and produce the same error (but with 002 instead of 001).  Additionally I could recreated it using both Shift or Ctrl as the means for multi-selecting.  I then added them one at a time and this resolved the issue and prevented me from recreating it.

An odd little error probably not worth spending anymore time on but mentioned for the sake of anyone else that might encounter it.
