Just wondering if there is some way to change the language. I have recently started learning German and pondered trying DA:O in German (mostly for ****s and giggles, but hey, I could learn a thing or two). Anyhoo, is there a way to switch languages? I'm assuming you would need to DL something, since you have all the voiceovers and whatnot.

If you have an international version of the game, all languages are on the 2 discs and you can just extract them.
Since you want to learn German, you can read my (German) description here: http://social.biowar...61/index/847866
The only difference is that the files you need have "german" in their name.
If you have any problems with the translation, tell me and I'll write that in English again...

Someone is learning our language? Should I call 911 or whatever the police's number in your region is and call for help in a case of inhuman treatment?
Nah, just kidding. I am happy to know some folks actually try, but as for other language versions ... get some youtube samples first. Any version of a game that does not feature the original language may heavily degrade in quality. Especially for language newcomers, the usual horrific translations would degrade your efforts more than you might think. And the voiceacting, ... don let me start on the darn voiceacting.
If you've played Mass Effect 2, ... go on youtube and search for some german language videos about ME2 ingame content.
I, german, installed ME2 (actually every game that did not originated in Germany) in english and nearly suffered a shock when I saw this "voiceacting" in the german version on youtube ...

Ah. So I gather it may do more harm than good, as the quality may be poor. (I'll check the videos later, it's late here).
And, Schwinni, when I say recently, I mean very recently. I know colors, numbers, and a few basic sentences. Anything more complex would be better "auf Englisch" for now. Danke.

Alright, I tell you in English:
Like I said, you need the international version of the game, where all languages are on the discs.
German would be on disc 2 and the files are called:
- audio_german.rar
- campaign_tt_german.rar
- campaign_vo_german.rar
- german.rar
All you have to do is to extract them into your DAO installation folder, preserving the folder structure inside the rar files.
That's it, just extracting 4 files...
