To commemorate me being able to pay for this DLC, and also resurrecting my Xbox from a Red Ringed Death, I decided to start a new playthrough based around Kasumi's power and weapon.

I want to use Flashbang Grenade liberally but I need to know a few things.

First, does anyone know if Flashbang is, in fact, a Tech Power?

Because if it is I should probably start an Engineer, Infiltrator or Sentinel. Because, along with the extra Tech Damage upgrade, I think I will be nigh unstoppable.

But, for those of you who have used this power, which class do you think it will sync well with the most?

I have ruled out Vanguard and Adept, as I already have an Adept playthrough on Horizon and I don't really see me using Flashbang as a Vanguard.

Flashbang Grenade is a combat power. I've updated the Gameplay Data thread.

Huh. I seriously thought it was a Tech power.

You might want to try the new grenade on Shep to see if you like it too. I really like it on kasumi as it's an instant direct hit on whatever you select. On Shep you actually throw it and you can miss, the plus of that is you can bank the grenade around corners and other stunts like that.

I just used it along with Kasumi on the IFF mission and I wasn't really blown away (get it) you really notice the longer cool down time as compared to some of your other abilities/options and Kasumi's grenades were a lot more effective than mine because of the precision of her attack. If you map the ability to an xbox controler so you don't have to pause the game it isn't all that accurate.  What I really liked though was her maxed out shadow strike on the scion - I let her finish it off each time - looked very cool.

I like this new character a lot but flashbang on Shep didn't do it for me - just something to keep in mind. I'm sure some will really like it though.

I just did the Derelict Reaper today with my soldier plus Kasumi and Grunt. I was a bit apprehensive about bringing a character I don't have much experience with to a difficult mission, but it turned out that Flashbang Grenade was incredibly useful. You can use it to stagger a whole mob of Husks, then mow them down with the Revenant. It also does surprisingly good damage against Husks once their armor is stripped away, I think I have it at +2 or +3, and at about half HP, it kills Husks. Great power.

Generally, I'd say she gels better with a defensive play style, which is why she's worked pretty well on Insanity for me so far. Shadow Strike kind of requires you to pick and choose your targets from cover. I don't know if I'd use her much with my Vanguard.

I'm actually forced to agree. Honestly, though, I'll probably rarely use it even with Kasumi. It's nice, but I'd rather have an enemy dead (via Shadow Strike) than stunned. It may see use during the Reaper IFF, but I don't think I'll need it anywhere else.

I think I know what party I'm going to use, though: Kasumi and Zaeed. Zaeed has amazing damage output thanks to his weapon selection (assault rifles) and his passive (+50% weapon damage), and Kasumi backstabs. It even has Armor stripping (Inferno Grenade) and Shield stripping (Overload). Not the most conventional team, but I like it.

Flash bang is easily one of the most powerful spells in the game, makes sense that it is a combat power, since those benefit the least from upgrades.

Well, just read the updates in the mechanics thread, and Shadow Strike is tech.

So ... since you can now get the tech cooldown bonus before horizon, you can Kasumi-backstab-spam those scions?

Who cares about the dmg. where it shines is its effect.. Which goes through defences.. Un-resistable CC..

I'm not sure if this has been figured out but looking on the Wiki the Locust had a higher DPS against armor than the Tempest did so I wouldn't be surprised if it is another 1.25/1.25/1.25 weapon like the assualt rifles and the Eviscerator (if it is that REALLY makes the assault rifle moot)

I've updated the gameplay thread with the multipliers for the Locust. It is indeed x1.25 for all resistances.
