Right so, this is my very first attempt at a custom item and everything has gone pretty well aside from the occasional breakdown while trying to figure out the custom tint and realizing a typo of all things was the problem.

Sorry, rambling. Anyway I got the armor made, loaded, re-tinted, and working perfectly. Well, almost perfectly. Two of the parts have a weird coloration thing happening.
Screenshots!

As you can see the pants and chest straps are all bright and funky looking.
funkiness continues in different lights

So yeah. I'm lost on what the problem is. I thought it might be the specular since that's the color I made the blue channels specular in my custom tint. But I tweaked those and no change so I'm not quite sure, plus everything else in the blue channel looks fine.

In case it's helpful, here's a screenshot of my dds's
Linkage due to size

The sections are dimmed out on the specular map so shouldn't that stop the spec tint from showing up?

Again, this is my first attempt. Not sure how helpful any of my info will be since i'm not sure where the problem is.

thanks! It was mostly a test run because I figured I'd screw something up.. which obvioulsy I did lol. I think I managed to figure out the problem though. Maybe...

so in case anyone good with tint maps happens to read this:
My high and medium tint maps had some discrepencies, specifically the pants were in the blue channel on my high map and the red channel on medium (not quite sure how that one happened...). The belts were also showing up faintly in the green channel on the medium map.
Since everything else was showing up correctly in all the maps and in the game, i'm guessing this was screwing up how the tint was being applied to those two sections?

Have you tried to use original _s and _n files? I´m not sure where´s problem here, but I have made few retextures and they looked pretty much alright ingame.

that's where I changed only _d file, so maybe that's why?
