I'm thinking of maybe going through the 1st game again, mainly so I can transfer over to Mass Effect 2, and was hoping to skip as many sidequests as possible. I did play an import on ME2 with pretty much all ME1 sidequests done. And if I remember correctly all I got was some emails, maybe some note while off on a mission, nothing serious. I could be wrong though, don't remember really.
I don't even know if helping out Wrex find his armor  added anything extra in ME2? Did it? Or helping Tali get that geth data disk, etc...

So yeah I was wondering how much impact the ME1 sidequests  actually have on Mass Effect 2? Does none of them have any significant impact? Or are there a select few that actually does something more than just an email?
Seems like maybe the crew quests should do something ;o

Conrad was someone you could meet and talk with on the Citadel. Although it was a quest, I don't put it in the same league as all the other sidequests where you had to drop the mako and go to a bunch of different planets. So lets make him an exception.

Talking to Conrad Vernor will eventually lead to a considerable weapons discount on Illium.

Doing Nassana's quest will get you a bit more dialogue out of her in ME2, I think. Or at least recognition.

Getting Wrex's armor probably doesn't do anything for ME2, but it makes life a lot easier in ME1.

If you avoid Kahoku and Cerberus missions altogether.... huh, I don't know what would happen. Curious to find out.

That's all I can think of at any rate.

Yea side quests have almost no impact in ME2, critical decisions as saving the council or letting it die dont have much impact on ME2 storyline either.

Ah, yes... "consequences." We have dismissed those claims.

If you helped Tali it may come up in conversation in ME2. Skipping the side quests will have no effect that I noticed.

I ran through 3 ME1 runs in a row so I could get to level 60. I skipped some side quests, did most. Didnt do the collection quests. maybe if I had, I would have been able to get 60 in 2 runs? I don't know. Getting 60 does get some nice bonuses in ME2
