Anyone disappointed with both ME2 and Avatar?

I only say this, as I seem to be in the minority of those that thought it a very average film and hardly worthy of the 12 year absence and cries that cinema would never be the same again. Yes it was visually impressive but it was also desperately predictable. Dances with Wolves meets Apocalypto but not as good as either of those.
Yet with so many people/critics heaping praise on Avatar and now so many seemingly doing the same with ME2, it only enhances a feeling that I really must be separated from the majority of people.
Obviously I’m in the minority, and that’s fine, but it has been bemusing going through the ‘why isn’t everyone else disappointed with this’ for Avatar and then feeling exactly the same with Mass Effect 2.

I heard the storyline was pretty one-dimensional and can be boiled down to "generic bad corporation comes to steal the native's resources."
If they wanted to that they should have just called up Shepard in the Normandy. He has become an expert at strip mining planets to pay for upgrades.

ME2 however should have been better than what it is, it's a good game but it should have been a great game.

In my opinion Avatar is the best movie i've seen in several years, a simple but envolving story that has a beggining, middle and a decent end, wich is far more than i can say for most movies out there. The design of the world is amazingly done.
Yes. But ME2 also blew my mind. Hey, what can I say, gimme some goodlooking space**** and I will like it.
And haters gonna hate

Avatar was certainly one of the better movies of the last several years. ME 2 is good but has virtually no replayability.

I hated all of the lore and world design used in Avatar. The story, didn't care for it. Didn't care about the characters or the protagonist, and I hated the NaVi more than anything else in the movie. Really I was rooting for the humans toward the end, even though they were designed to be despicable violent redneck hicks.

Hmmph that actually makes sense to me now, I did get the feeling they were all rednecks. Maybe thats why they are on Pandora..........its just like Louisanna or Florida to them.....

In research projects, Unobtanium is used in Plot Devices and Political Commentary.
I wasn't keen on Pandora either except as a platform for jokes about backups and network topology.

I feel the same about avatar, but mass effect is genuinly brilliant. And as this is a mass effect 2 forum, not a avatar forum, so this thread is irrelevant.Payne by name wrote...

OH wait, none of you know what the cave is. But you DID see pocahontas as a 5 year old, so that clearly makes you critics.

I never had the slightest desire to even go see Avatar because I know I'm going to hate it in every possible way.
Myth busted.

Not a big fan of the lame lefty anti-military, anti-business, pro-tree hugging garbage the commies in Hollywood have been puking out forever.
