I'll throw a vote in for Singapore as well.

Failing that, wherever it is that Cord-Hislop Aerospace's headquarters is located.

I need to have a chat with the man in charge. >.>

Some place that's either uber multi-cultural like New York or else really famous and touristy like some of the big cities in Europe.  That way people can't complain about not getting to see their part of earth.  Or Bioware could just do some place in Canada.  Seeing that they're a Canadian company, that seems fair.  They can always make up a location as well.

In the future, Edmonton has become the seat of the Earth government and the headquarters of the Alliance.  Furthermore, due to global warming, its harsh wintry weather has been replaced with a lush tropical climate, making it the most sought after tourist destination on the planet.  Also, after to the 2054 war with the States, once-rival city Calgary has been reduced to a radioactive crater.

I would say Las Vegas but that's gonna get covered in the new Fallout. How about Tokyo and have a giant Reaver ship destroying buildings ala Mothra.

I'd laugh my ass off if it turned out to be some podunk town in the middle of nowhere.

So Shepard, would you like to see the great wonder that Earth has become since the 21st? Would you like to see all that we have achieved in the hundreds of years leading up to our golden age?

Let's go to Plainsville, Utah, home of the world's last surviving corn field!

Mumbai, and while we're there we can eat at Samesh Bhatia's restaurant.

But they need to get a VA who doesn't do such an over-the-top accent, and then adds insult to injury by failing to pronounce 'Bhatia' properly.

Come to think of it, he screwed up 'Samesh' to some extent too. <_<

We will probably just be going to Alliance HQ which is placed in an unnamed city. If I had to choose, I would probably pick somewhere in Switzerland.

floating cities are too fantasy like. One of the great things about Mass Effect is that it feels like our world. Floating city stuff is too Star Wars like.

Edmonton? Except it's transformed into a massive, 15 million population city and is one of the world's multicultural hubs and boasts the best architecture in Canada?

Alliance HQ = Arcturus Station =/= Earth

You know, honestly not a city from the United States if only because most games that do go to Earth ends up in the United States and it would be awesome for a little... variance.

Any city but New York! For the love of god, why does everyone use NY in movies, Tv shows and games?

We've seen New York City a lot but have we ever seen a futuristic New York City.  Sure some games that take place in the future have part of their setting in New York like Deus Ex but that was a dystopian vision.

Mass Effect's universe takes place in a society where humanity has achieved a near Utopian like society.  I think it would be cool to show New York in a future I'd want to live in.

You could say the same about any major city instead of NY. Hell Chicago, Philly, LA, London..etc. would all be just as cool to see.

LA, Chicago, Philly, La don't have enough memorable scenery. They look like just any other big scenery and would be lost with all the new futuristic architecture. New York though is instantly recognizable and that would be necessary to identify it as it as no doubt evolved.

Doctor Who had a futuristic New York. Well, technically it was New New York. Actually, it's the 15th NY which makes it New New New New New New New New New New New New New New New York. Which was actually located on New Earth.

So the point I was trying to make just completely backfired and blew up in my face. I'm going to stop blabbing now. Good day, sir.

Doctor Who is such a crap series. I remember watching it when I was 6 years old back on PBS and even back in 1989 I thought it sucked.

You just missed out on the best Doctor. Tom Baker. I think we can all safely agree that he kicks so many buttocks that he wears them as a hat... then offers a jelly baby after.
