There aren´t many Norwegian Death bands, but Cadaver and especially Blood Red Throne are just awesome.
Most of the great Scandinavian Death comes from Sweden... or your state; since Unique Leader Records (with the awesome Deeds of Flesh!) is there.
My buddy Matt has an obession with yelling out "Norwegian Death Metal" every time we start a round of Gears of War 2.
The one I listen to that comes to mind is Dimmu Borgir. Definitely Norwegian....
Edit: I suppose I should equally scream "Finnish Death Metal!" because I particularly enjoy Children of Bodom.

Finnland has far better Death than Children, like Demigod.Well, and one of my Black faves: Impaled Nazarene.

Edit: Dragonforce, also known as Cheese Metal.

Dimmu Borgir is Black Metal (or at least, it used to be so some years ago, now I don´t know what to think...).

At this point, I have yet to find a band that is more musically (not vocally) proficient than Children of Bodom. To me they are, by far, the best musicians I have ever heard play the great sound known as Metal.
Vocally.....can't win em all I guess. Ouch.

Problem is that it's all subjective. Why does one person prefer Chopin while the other likes Tchaikovsky? Why does the third person like both? Perhaps those bands are more capable in their specific respects you've stated, but for my individual subjective decision, Children wins the gold. Plus having seen them play live really makes a difference. Lamb of God/Children of Bodom was one of the most epic matchups I have ever had the pleasure of bearing witness to.

There are barely any Norwegian Death Metal at all, all we got is Blood Red Throne, that's the only worthwhile norwegian death metal band.

Cadaver (or Cadaver Inc.) is another great possibility. Aura Noir is nice Death/Thrash and of course there´s Zyklon...Sadist King wrote...

Dimmu Borgir is probably... Symphonic/Melodic Black Metal, but their still sellouts.
Maybe they´re sellouts, but at leadt they´re good.
Don´t come close to Cradle of Filth, though.

Dimmu used to be an awesome band and their first two records; For All Tid and Stormblåst are really great... But just like BehemothM they started overproducing their music killing all the beauty with too many layers of make-up.Tirigon wrote...

Plus working for them sucks.
Cradle is a joke; not a band. And they also used to play great music, like in Vempire or Dusk and Her Embrace.
