The dress was very well designed. Complimented Shepard's muscle tone without hindering her arm & leg movements. Long dresses would be hard to fight in, let alone stilleto heels. It had a subdued elegance with a practical design to it.

dont think the dress is really bad, but i think animations in it make it look a bit i dont know like a grandma pulling her last tricks on the street, or something there isnt much fenisme about how she walks or run with it on, which for me was biggest issue during that mission.

The dress was nice. Shepard does not know how to walk in heels, however, nor does she realize she needs to cross her legs when she sits. I found it hilarious, and pretty believable since Shep spends most of her time tromping around in armor.

Just don't sit with your legs so wide, Shep, my dear. Garrus can see your panties.

They fixed it with Lotsb, so I expect we won't see it in Me3. As for panties, look again, it's just a black hole!

Oh so many puns, the horror.

Well I actually like the dress and jacks dlc outfit aside from the visor for that matter. Different tastes I suppose. Although it seems designed to draw attention and could do with being a bit more ...’refined?’. Not what I would pick if I wanted to blend in. Standing out in a crowd is not good when you’re planning to rob the place.

Don’t use it outside of that mission tho, it just looks really really out of place if you wear that on the Normandy. Especially given the animations for how FemShep sits. I actually like how she sits, I think it fits with her well but it hilarious with this dress. Someone needs to tell Shep to close her legs.

I like the LBD, besides you can always wear something like this instead of a panty underneath the dress.

OTOH her body language / movement does not seem suitable for a get-up like that....

Doubt one cares much about crotch shots if one is in a fight ?

Probably so.  If I was the merc trying to kill you, the last thing on my mind is your crotch or your dress.   At anyrate, the crotch thing was being brought up anyway.

Shepard was never very ladylike. She's a soldier. I was quite alright with her motion capture being just as 'masculine' as Male Shepard's. If she sits with her legs wide, that's fine - men do it to show dominance.

Fem Shepard is pretty damn dominant. Besides - Jack walks and sits like a 'man' too.

I agree if she is wearing any other outfit especially combat armour.  Would you sit like that with your legs apart in a dress?  Maybe at home or somewhere private yes, but definitely not in the public.

Doesnt change fact its a fluke, i mean come on Katsumi supposed to be a top professional thief, if she know shepard doesnt have that kind of eitquette she would likely have given her a crash cause in it, much like they do in buisness school, and before you say it be boring to do that, why would we see it? might well just be a hinted thing at some point if deemed necessary. No top professional thief in right mind would send in a lady with a low cut dress that attract attention and then on top of it not make sure cover had some crash course in etiquette or fenimine walks, when purpose is not to attract to much attention and blend in.

Its like bringing a gang thug into the white house without any coaching and not exspect him to stand out, when point was to blend in is a huge fail.

That said i imagine that DLC was mainly thought through the male shepard perspective and there for this was overlooked for female one.

You can call me sexist but woman must look and move like woman. There are plenty of ways to show "dominant behavior" without sacrificing natural beauty. When femShep wears dress and moves like she is wearing combat armor it doesn't make her any more masculine only more uglyless beautiful.

Reading all your totally appropriate thoughts makes me go back to my original query for why I started this......why not a long dress? FemShep would look totally awesome in a long dress like the rest of the females were wearing, could sit with her legs spread (crotch talk again:) and no one would notice, could wear it outside that one mission and it would "fit in" and, wait for it..... could sssoooo conceal any weapon under it!! Not to mention, she wouldn't have "stood out" while casing the joint, now would she......Strudelmann had ALOT of sexy long dresses with open areas in just the right "spots", shall we say, similar to what we saw others at the party wearing. OK -I'm just saying. AND Aurica - loved the link to the shorts...at least it wasn't to a chauvinistic thong lingerie site....lol

You would probably end up with allot of clipping and physics issues around the legs. It’s easier just to make the dress shorter and avoid the issue. I've seen it in other games where they had combat or running with someone in a long dress. Usually it either looks weird because the dress is just stuck to legs and dosn’t move at all or the skirt starts glitching and spazing out everywhere.

Sex sells and there are allot of people who seem to think you can’t be sexy without flashing skin.

Besides a short skirt and sleeves are more practical if a fire fight breaks out before Shep can get back in her regular armor.

Still think a long dress with side slits is doable. I tried it in a paintball game - concealed gun under the dress, ambushed at dinner party, whipped out the gun, shot my way out, ran up stairs, vaulted over railing, still shooting and running. Didn't work well in leather or velvet long dress w\\slits, but did GREAT in silk and other "plyable" material dresses. Above the elbow gloves (in leather) added to the look, and helped immensly with grip (gun, railing and vaulting). OK, jusy saying (and sharing)......

I'm still not a fan of forcing FemShep into a skirt.

Gotta agree with that, not a fan of the LBD/skirt. Either long dress with slits or rockin" pantsuit. ANYTHING but the LBD. Hope they don't force that on Shep in ME3. Seriously, I wore it for the mandatory mission, and then NEVER again. Wish I had the option to flush it out into space when talking to Zaeed...............

It wouldn't be that bad if FemShep didn't move around like a man in that dress. Especially in LotsB when remeniscing with Liara, FemShep sits on the bed with her legs spread...*puke*

Perhaps that's more an indication of whether the character is comfortable in, likes, and/or belongs in a dress...

Or, is it an indication that builders/developers need to tweak, revise and/or at least consider a more feminine Shep, instead of focusing on MaleShep? Not that I'm complaining, many games don't even allow a female PC as an option (The Witcher & Dead Space comes to mind), so if BW has female PCs a little too masculine, that's okay with me, at least there is a choice!!!. Oh, happy turkey day all...........

I don't ever remember Shepard sitting with her "legs spread" in that scene. In fact a lot of people were talking about it being great that she didn't sit with her legs open in that scene.

She actually does at first, especially when sitting down:

You almost get a "Paris Hilton coming out from the taxi in a mini skirt" glimpse. True, at the end she sits with her legs together but I must've been distracted by almost seeing my FemSheps hedgehog.

Since we all know the potential "exposure risk", then the designer of the LBD knew it too! So,why not design something different (like a pantsuit or long dress, it's not like Shep did alot of running around on Bekenstein after all) And again, it's why I won't wear the stupid thing knowing FemShep will do the masculine "sits". I wear the long dresses, purple & black or Science, 2 piece Uni............
