this has most likely been talked about and such but i want to put my two cents in to bioware and ask that in ME3 they go for broke with the squadmates. i have all 12 surviving crew members and i would like to have liara, wrex, and ashley AT LEAST on my ship. it's the last of the trilogy, please go all out on this one. they already doubled the squad mate number why not just do it all?! let us keep the people we've recruited and even get a batarian, elcor, or volus to hang out on our ship too. that's my request, anyone else feel the same way?

i would think that would happen kinda. wrex wont come, ash/liara would come, and some people would leave you (amara/monirith, jack, etc)

and if certain people died, some would have a certain kind of replacement (Like legion)

It would be cool to have the same number of slots available for your squad as in ME2, but for you to be able to choose who's in it depending on who has survived from ME1 & 2, especially as I'm not fussed on some of the characters and so could leave them out if I wanted in place of those I prefer.

A bit ambitious maybe but would be a good thing to have.

The difficulty is in keeping that amount of characters interesting, functional, and unique. That is A LOT of dialogue to write. Sidequests and whatever loyalty/personal missions...

I'd love some squadmate parties. There are ways you can completely lose yourself in the music of Omega's clubs, you know.

You should encourage everyone to come - or I'll make them come.

i definitely agree with the idea of having some new characters in the game that are strictly crew, so they aren't squadmates that you can take out on missions but you are still able to interact with them (like conversation, upgrades, and possibly some side quests).

I definately think it would be a cool twist to do it like Mattyo says. Have 12 spots, but like 20 available people to "recruit" with them being a mix between ME1 and 2 characters and a few new ones, and make the player decide who to add and who to leave out. It would be a great new way to give the player choice that (as far as I know) has never been done before.

I support BioWare Going for Broke in ME3

Shepard needs a small army.
Also what Mattyo wrote. So we have to choose who to recruit, that would make things tricky.

I have stated many times that I want to be able to recruit 107 characters, combat or non-combat

Yeah man either in the SR2's bar or shepards sweet pad from the fight station dlc in ME. Huge celebration for stopping the reaper threat once and for all.

I agree, best not to have too many teammates since that would limit the character development of each.  I would like the option of picking who to recruit so I can form a team that I personally like.  It also means that everyone's game would be different.

Or not have replacements? What better punishment for your actions in ME 2? This would make sence,

You'd be gurranteed in theory you'd be gurranteed liara and you'd be gurranteed either kaiden or ashley no matter what. Then whoever you kept alive from me 2. Samara/Morinth would almost most definately move on being a justicar at all, maybe play a story role or not. Not sure about Jack.

Wrex wouldn't come because he has responsibilities if he's alive. But might pay an important story role in how successful the krogans are in the end battle.

Then you'd have some new squad mates maybe 5 or 6. Which you'd be able to recruit regardless. But the more people you had alive, along with upgrades and everything else the more chance you have of a good ending? Of if you wanted to be brutal, only have 1 or 2 recruitable squad mates. So if you did get everyone killed that u could get killed, u will have a harder time at achieving a respectable ending in me 3.

I''d also expect any dlc characters like the 2 we've seen to not carry over. When you assume that at least Samara/Morinth, Legion, Thane have made no commitments or aren't able to stay with shepard after the missions completed, it seems kinda more realistic that you could take some of the most loyal squad mates in me 2, take 2 potential squad mates from the first game that weren't squad mates in me 3 and add new squad mates and still have a reasonable size team.

I mean guys don't you think its interesting that if you got everyone killed in me 2... then all you had was liara and kaiden or ashley. That's the bare minimun to produce a 3 man team which technically you could complete the trilogy with. Imagine if that was all you had plus a few characters you picked up in me 3.

Well, as long as we can at least keep some of them, I'd be happy. I am pretty sure Liara will come back for ME3. After all, she is the only character who is sure to survive both, ME1 and ME2.

I think it's more likely that BioWare will go the route of having you choose your squadmates to fill a limited number of "slots" in the party, either directly (literally "you, follow me. You, stay.") or indirectly (the decisions you make in a mission in ME3, perished party members having their spots filled in automatically).
