One thing that has bugged me every time i play Mass effect 2 is the way Bioware decided to portray some of the squad mates. Unlike ME1, where everyone wore standardized armor, ME2 includes the likes of Jack, Samara, thane and Miranda. Now don’t get me wrong, I loved all of these characters, but for the life of me, I could not take them seriously at ALL.  Watching Miranda run around the collector’s ship with nothing but a latex suit, high heels and a piece of plastic over her mouth is so unrealistic that it just destroys the immersion for me. I truly think that if Bioware had designed armor like Shepards for each character, I would enjoy having those squad mates listed above in my squad more. I just cannot take Miranda of samara in my group due to those high heels, no matter how much I want to.  And anyway, they would look awesome if they had some heavy duty battle armor.

I think everyone should have some casual clothing like Shepard... It's just weird seeing their 'casual' clothes is the same thing they fight with.

Some high heeled shoes are as comfortable as sneakers, and some sneakers and as uncomfortable as the craziest platform pump. It's just what you're used to.

This is role playing game, you get to role play as Commander Shepard. You don't get to role play the rest of the crew, thus they get to decide what they want to wear. I actually like the system they put in for alternate outfits for the crew and couldn't care less what they wear on the missions. In a world of biotics, anything is possible.

I don't find heels very sexy. Not at all. It does make it much harder for women to run away from you, however.

I think many males assume high-heels are universally uncomfortable. Depending on the construction of the shoe, they can be quite comfortable and certainly don't interfere with movement for the most part. Sometimes having a little bit of a heel can make a shoe more comfortable than a flat shoe. I don't find the heels in ME2 to be overly fetishistic, there is a difference between 2- and 3-inch heels and 4- and 5-inch heels. The latter are much harder to wear comfortably.

Yeah but one shouldn't wear heels all the time. That'll screw up with your knees supposedly and Miranda is nothing if not efficent. I don't think she'd be willing to take the chance that something avoidable could hamper her duty. (and honestly the heel could break) combat in high heels is ridculous.
