i can only play renegade as a female sheppard and paragon as male. i have an extremely hard time choosing to be the bad guy. it's just not my nature.

When I was young, I always wanted to be the hero. I wanted to be a shining knight that rescued the princess, helped the needy, and defended not only people but concepts like truth, honor, and justice.

It's not enough to defeat evil, I want to do good. I play a Paragon.

Bingo.

I just can't act like a jerk, it fills me with remorse (both in games and IRL). But i do pick some renegade interruptions just for the lulz of it.

because Daisy Shepard is a paragon. I do not base the decisions on my own opinions; only the likely opinions of a paragon shepard, a noble and decent spectre.

I'll also add I'm the self-sacrificing martyr kind of person IRL, and being a horrible person in ME/DA:O/D&D satisfies my need for being evil.

Though, much like when I AM mean IRL, there's always that one friend/squadmate who always makes you feel guilty.

"That was a little extreme, Commander."

I mostly go Renegade because I find the conversations more fun and its plain fun being evil. But I did keep the council around just because I like the Turian Turd and his stupid claims. There are some points though where I will trigger a paragon option because I feel bad for the character.

But I do sometimes do full Paragon playthroughs.

I have played through with my guy Shep on Paragon.  Made a FemShep to play renegade with.

Got half way through that and made a FemShep to go through Paragon with.

What can I say?  I like being the good guy.   :)

I play Paragon with a little renegade. Because given the options, that would fit my choices and personality.

The first run with any Bioware game, I play Evil. I am merciless and I am a destroyer! After I have Blown everyone to hell and back, I'll take a deep breath and play as Angelic as I can so that I can have a completely different experience. Then on the third run I'll try to walk the line as close I can.

But I always play Renegade first!

Fear me, then Love me

I wanted to play a mix. Choosing what felt right in that particular moment.

Game mechanics favor people who go strictly for one or the other (which is silly imo), so I have one Shep for each.

Problem is, BioWare made Renegade way too ruthless. If there's one reason the majority seem to prefer Paragon, it's this.

It's not a problem if you have an imported ME1 character, but with a new character, yeah... definitely.

While playing ME2 I felt some of the renegade interruptions were pretty logical, like shooting the gas tank as the krogan gives his monologue and killing all the mercenaries at the beginning of Miranda's loyalty quest. I thought it would be stupid not to do them so why did they make it renegade, being smart isn't evil.

I play paragon but was disappointed by how easy it was. It's so black and white, they need some moral dilemmas, like at the start where you have to decide whether to give Veetor back to the quarians, they should have made it so it you give him to cerberus he gives important info but goes mad and if you don't he stays sane but you don't get the info. ME1 had a bit of that but there are so many fun moral dilemmas and games are a perfect platform for it.

Also paragon responses can and should be just as funny as renegade ones.

Heres the thing with renegade. I believe, that after all the crap Shepard has been through (not even to mention being killed already), the man/woman probably doesnt care about finding fish on the citadel. That being said, why would a commander thats out to save the entire galaxy really give a crap about stupid things like finding a lost credit chip for some ******? Someone like that would be about getting the job done at all costs without caring about someone's feelings.

Renegade is simply more realistic given the character that we're playing. That's basically what it comes down to. I dont have time to be the nice guy and help everyone that talks to me with their stupid problems, I have a galaxy to save ...again.

I usually play paragade. For the big decisions, I usually go Paragon. Beyond that, Renegade. If I wanted to be nice to everyone I'd just go outside and be nice to people. When I play games I want to commit astounding acts of badassery.

Generally I play a Paragon character. That's just is the kind of person that I am if I were in those situations. However...

...some situations call for the Renegade option. Sometimes negotiation isn't an option, and I've got a mission to complete. I'm a Paragade.
