I haven't seen Tevinter yet, but when I look at what the dwarfs had they put other races to shame.
Except for the Qunari. I think they, for now at least, surpass the dwarves in terms of technology.

I was on my way eager to steal Nugbane. She was in my way. I told her to GTFO of it.sylvanaerie wrote...
Plus the cutest NPC in the game is a dwarf. Dagna is more cute than a box o' puppies. How can anyone be mean to her?

A dalish that didn't mind siding with the werewolves against his own people of course

One word for that: Cammen.
Seriously do I need to state another reason?

Yeah those giants may have gained the upper hand at least for gunpowder. But they haven't lost 80% of their cities to the Blight. They didn't even know what the Blight was. We've been a little preoccupied.

But in general, other than the Dwarves and the Qunari, the other races are primitive.
I personally support a Dwarven / Qunari alliance.
Yeah, that's a dwarven thingn as well and probably worse as far as they go as I don't think that the qunari refuse to allow their own people into their society because their ancestors had problems if they are willing to accept the Qun.caste system abiding,
It all could have been avoided if there was just an option to murder-knife him WITHOUT making elfroot extinct. You can start a genocide with that as a reason, and you are justified.

That would be scary.

Racism develops when there's an imbalance of power in merging cultures; the dwarves merge with nobody, therefore there is no racism
I think you should use predjudice rather than racism in this sentence. Where there is no "racial" differentiation, the balance of power differnetial can still create predjudical social interactions with relatively dissimilar peoples. An example is the social treatment of blue collar versus white collar individuals in a non-racially diverse setting. Blue collar individuals, by virtue of their economic station, familial affiliation, or even type of employment can often be socially stigmatized. Race is the first and regrettable the most obvious excuse, but it is not the only excuse.

But I don't think the Quinari would ally with anyone, at any point; their society doesn't seem to allow for it

The Qunari caste system seems to be based on meritocracy though. Of course what one merits is decided by their council of elders. Which provides some form of social mobility (which is not based on your will however).
The dwarven caste system on the otherhand is hereditary. So there is no possible way for social mobility except through Paragonhood, or noble hunting.
