Can you give an example of a similarity because while their society definitely has some problems, I just don't see the comparison.

Are you talking about the Old Gods or the Maker? Very few people (especially in Ferelden) worship the Old Gods anymore and yet they're no constantly besieged by the darkspawn. Given that the Old Gods and the Maker were supposedly enemies, shouldn't the Chantry be the hardest hit? And the reason the darkspawn go after the dwarves has nothing to do with the dwarves 'deserving' it as darkspawn, whether due to the taint or the song, aren't really shown to be capable of making choices like that without Architect-style intervention. They go after the dwarves because they both live underground.

The people of Thaedas hate the Elves, or more specifically The Dalish Elves for the reasons I listed. The City Elves are not so much hated but looked upon with contempt, and no one likes vagrants and thieves ( like the city elves are ).

I was never arguing that they were not hated. I was disagreeing with you saying that this was justified, or that they "deserved" to be hated. If I remember correctly, you said they were hated for "a bloody good reason."

If you've played through orzamarr it's plainly obvious they are nothing but opportunist, liars, and idiots.

They can't choose between the murderer or harrowmont? Champions bow out of provings based on rumors and blackmail. Yeah, that sure is honorable.

There are some aspects of the dwarven social structure I don't like (caste system and particularly the way they treat the casteless), I'm not fond of some of their leaders (neither Bhelen nor Harrowmont is ideal and both show some aspects of corrupt-ness), and I'll definitely agree Oghren may not be their best standard-bearer.



However, flaws in their society do not prevent me from overlooking their good qualities. Like, for example, they make awesome bombs! (Go Dworkin go.)

So - to the OP, yes some people hate dwarves, just like some hate elves.

Dwarves are publically honoroable, and opportunistic, which makes for some fun intrigue in the part of the game about them. They consider themselves honorable, but have a different set of rules than humans do for honor. The dwarven attitude is "don't get caught". They're not idiots, they opportunistic, which makes them INTERESTING

Way more interesting than the elves IMO

Oh, I have one! The rest of the clan seems to like Cammen and hates you if you ruin his life. If they're not going to supply you with elfroot then they just became obsolete.

There is one. It is called "Kill the elves, kill Zathrian."

DA Redesigned makes Cammen look better, doesn't change his personality, but he doesn't look like a chipmunk with a mouth full of nuts. If you want over all better looking elves, and well everyone else I'd recommend that mod. But its very good for the elves, they actually can be beautiful as is mentioned throughout the game. Bioware seemed to have a problem with realistic facial proportions on many characters.

That's because I think they use 'auto generate' or something, for faces, with maybe only a few characters getting hands on improvement.

Any 1st year art student learns about proper facial proportions, and the average npc in the game doesn't follow the rules of nature, nor design. That's why I'm convinced most are auto generated.



That being said, dwarves still suck, and I'm entitled to my opinion. I slaughter as many of the little runts as the game will allow, and anyone who chooses evil werewolves, which the epilogue points out, never really change, condems not only the elves but many more innocent people as well. That is pure evil.

I'll side with the Elves any day of the week and laugh as my arrow of slaying exterminates the dwarves long before they pose a threat to my kneecaps.

Inexplainable hatred towards a group of people is usually due to some form of jealousy.

In this case, I think that person is jealous that he is *small* compared to the Dwarves, even when he is taller.
